SUVs with reduced transmission and locking can be either with an automatic gearbox or with a manual gearbox. Not all cars, especially new ones, have a standard version with a separate dispensing box. If it is absent, the reduced gear is switched on using buttons or a special lever.

Many high-grade off-road cars do not have a distributing box because of that it increases cost of the car and its weight. But in a reduced gear the car only moves forward, which becomes a significant disadvantage in certain situations.

When using such a gear, you can not move over a hard surface, since the transmission will have a significant load at that time. To achieve maximum effect, you need to move at an increased speed.
