Lock: device, types, features and reviews

As soon as the society began to separate on property grounds, immediately appeared shut-off devices designed to preserve property. Technologies have evolved over time, like the locking devices of past centuries are completely different from modern castles.

The main goal of any castle is to lock and protect immovable and movable property.

Door locks

All locks for locking doors, both interior and entrance, are classified according to several signs.

By the installation method:

  • Hinged;
  • Invoices;
  • Mortise.

By the type of lock device, privacy:

  • Magnetic, or electronic, with a special drive;
  • Cylinder or in the people "English", has pins that do not allow it to crack;
  • Code that opens when a certain combination of digits is typed;
  • The number of denticles on the key is equal to the number of saddles in the mechanism of the locking device.

The opening method is divided into:

  • Universal, that is, they can be used for left-hand and right-hand doors;
  • left;
  • rights.

It is recommended never to turn over mortise and overhead locks, if they are picked up incorrectly. In this case, the manufacturer does not guarantee the normal functioning of the locking device, the longer the time.

In addition, castles can use the same type of secrecy mechanism or combined.

You can buy a lock-beam, this is a kind of overlaid device. The lock has two bolts that move across the entire width of the door.

Lock mechanism

Absolutely all locks have the following details:

  • Fixture for fixation;
  • Gate valve;
  • A box for constipation;
  • The key that moves the bolt.

Locking device

The overhead lock was invented a long time ago and at first was a simple bolt, but over time it underwent multiple changes. The locking mechanism of this device may be a lever or a latch type.

There is a waybill lock on the mechanism of the mechanism:

  • With or without latch;
  • The type of secrecy mechanism;
  • With specific features.

All overhead locks have in their composition:

  • Bar, back and front;
  • Drive lever;
  • Body with gear.

According to feedback from users, the main advantage of an overhead lock is durability and low cost. Installation works almost never cause any problems.

Mortise lock

The device of the mortise lock is very similar to the mechanism of the overhead locking device. Such locks can often be found on the entrance doors. For steel doors only the mortise constructions of the locking mechanisms are used. Such locks are completely invisible, but weaken the place where they are mounted. Installation mortise locks should be carried out by a specialist or buy a door leaf is recommended with an already embedded locking device.

Padlocks

The mention of padlocks is found in the writings of Ancient China. The principle of operation of such a device is very simple. The lock is most often used for locking garages, barns and other utility rooms.

The device of the lock of the hinged can be sovalnoe, disk, cylinder, screw and even with the code mechanism. Important for the reliability of the padlock is the bow, it is broken when trying to penetrate the interior of the room. The bow can be forged or made of steel rod. The shape of the bow is round and flat, flexible.

It can not be said that the device of the padlock is very reliable. Often such locks are knocked down. Solve this problem if you choose a lock with a steel shackle and body. It is not recommended to purchase aluminum locks, they are most easily knocked off. Locks with a locking finger, and not with an arch are more reliable, since the eyes are in this case additionally protected.

Rules for selecting locks for entrance doors

Before buying a lock, always pay attention to the class of security against burglary. Allocate 4 classes, characterizing the time for which a lock can be opened by a burglar. The higher the class, the more time it will take for the autopsy. The longest period of time that can be required to open a lock is 30 minutes.

Naturally, you should pay attention to the type of lock mechanism. "English" castles have the highest degree of secrecy, although for the opening of such a lock it will only be necessary to knock out the larva. Therefore, when purchasing such locks, it is recommended to complement the door with an armored cover.

The reliability of the lock lock depends on the number of plates, or the screed and on the type of material from which they are made. The minus of such a lock is a big key and the bigger the bar on it, the bigger it is. In domestic use, such locks are not very convenient, since they are closed and open on both sides exclusively with a key. Suvaldnye locks are mainly used on an equal footing with hinged locks for locking technical rooms.

Combined locks are very popular. This is a two-cylinder, cylinder-toggle or two-lever mechanism. One system blocks the other. Combined lock can have a "secret", that is, a replacement mechanism. But, such locks are quite expensive and require almost "jeweler" skill at installation.

To maximize its safety, recommends the use of several devices at once, with different operating principles. It is not necessary to focus on the cheapest models of locks and to consider the offers of unknown manufacturers of locking devices.

Car Door Locks

The locks for the entrance doors are different from the locking mechanisms for cars, which are responsible not only for the safety of the property.

First of all, if the car has a lateral impact, the lock must ensure transmission and dispersion of forces from the door to the body. The lock on the car should have a pleasant sound when opening and closing. It is necessary that there were tactile sensations when the door handle was opened.

The car lock is only a part of the lock system of the whole car. The system combines the lock of the hood, luggage compartment, fuel tank and "glove box".

The car door lock device consists of a mechanical and an electrical part. The mechanical part is responsible for closing and opening the lock. The electronic part is a whole complex of all kinds of systems responsible for the operation of the mechanical part of the lock, remote control and intelligent access.

Most car locks have a similar mechanical device

  1. Locking mechanism. Includes a stopper and includes a latch. The dog fixes the latch with a fixing notch. The dog has two locking recesses, one of which exists only for safety. If the door is not fully closed and the swivel latch does not reach the latch, the door, thanks to the additional recess, will still close.
  2. Power door closer. Such a mechanism is found only in models of cars of the representative class. First of all, the power door closer always closes the door and helps to achieve acoustic comfort at the time of opening and closing the door.
  3. Lever mechanism. It is this mechanism that is responsible for the opening function. Efforts that are attached to the door handle are transferred to the lever mechanism, which unlocks the locking pawl, releasing the pivoting latch. After the door is opened, the locking mechanism returns to its original position.
  4. Blocking mechanism. The whole process of the mechanism works is reduced only to the deactivation of the lever mechanism.

The locking mechanism can be:

  1. Mechanical. In this case, the locking mechanism is connected to the drive, and the door is locked and unlocked using a physical key.
  2. Electromechanical. In this case, the motor is integrated with the worm gear, and the drive itself is integrated in the door lock case.

It is the electric motor that is the executive device in the central locking system.

Many cars today are equipped with a double locking lock, which allows to lock the internal and external drive of the door. In this case, the trunk lid lock device, doors can work autonomously.

Egnition lock

Not so long ago, no other vehicle had ignition locks. The engine was started with an ordinary rotary key, actually by hand. Today, the key was replaced by a starter, which cranks the engine behind the flywheel and the flat cog-wheel. The disc itself is located between the engine and the clutch. After starting the engine, the flywheel and starter teeth come into engagement. At the same time, the engine unwinds. It is the ignition switch that is responsible for supplying a direct current from the battery to the starter relay. This is the general principle of the ignition lock.

In addition to power supply, the ignition switch does not allow the battery to discharge, when the car does not move, is parked.

There are several reasons why the ignition lock must be replaced:

  • Loss of ownership of the vehicle key from the lock;
  • Burnout of the contact group;
  • Breakage of the anti-theft device.

The ignition mechanism, like the car door lock, has two parts, electronic and mechanical, as well as a cable loop and a terminal.
