Leukoplakia of the cervix can be a precancer

This diagnosis is rarely started by an unprepared person. Usually the phrase "leukoplakia of the cervix" is hammered into the search engine only if the name was mentioned by a doctor or friend who is familiar with the disease. It is not superfluous to read this article, and not frightened comments on the forums.

Leukoplakia of the cervix is a matte lesion of the mucosa in this area. Paradoxically, the extent of the lesion can only be determined by eye when viewed in a gynecological chair. However, leukoplakia requires attention, because it can be a form of precancerous condition. After the diagnosis is made, it is necessary to take a tissue sample for examination so as not to miss the moment of cell degeneration.

Cervical leukoplakia can have different causes . They are difficult to determine in every single case. In general, this disease is rather mysterious, and doctors have only assumptions about provoking factors.

First, the cause can be an endocrine disorder. It has been proven that a high level of estrogen often provokes epithelial overgrowth and keratosis. If you have a violation of the cycle, it signals that with the female hormones, not everything is normal. Another reason to go to the gynecologist on time, this will be the prevention of leukoplakia.

Secondly, leukoplakia of the cervix is often provoked by local inflammatory processes. Especially "distinguished" in this regard, such pathogens as trichomonads. However, any other pathogens can also cause leukoplakia.

Third, this condition is caused by cervical lesions. It is not so easy to traumatize, not every male member of sufficient length to cause chronic trauma. And it is not easy with normal sex. Another thing - a variety of intimate toys like nozzles, spines, antennae and the like. So they provoke leukoplakia. No wonder in ancient China, where a variety of toys were in honor, there was a huge number of gynecological diseases. So choose - intimate health or extreme sensations.

The disease is serious enough, but do not panic. Not so terrible in itself is the diagnosis of "leukoplakia of the cervix." Treatment, if it is started fast enough, is effective in most cases. Methods are chosen different, both conservative and surgical, although anxious patients are afraid of the latter.

The first method: cryotherapy. That is, cauterization with liquid nitrogen. As a result, the lesion is completely necrotic, pathologically altered cells die. Takes 2 to 5 minutes only. Anesthesia is not necessary. Heals several months.

The second method: laser photocoagulation. At the same time, "bad" cells are destroyed by a high-intensity laser. Plus this method - the dead cells form a dense layer, through which the infection can not subsequently penetrate. Anesthesia, as in the first case, is not needed. It is done at the beginning of the cycle, it also heals a few months. Although this, of course, depends on the area of surfaces that are affected by leukoplakia.

The third method: radio wave surgery. Also heals in a few months, is a more gentle method, which is good even for those who have not yet given birth.

Fourth method: classical operative. It is used rarely, usually during pregnancy. The patient is made "cesarean", while working on her cervix.

The fifth method: the use of local action. Usually, after a while, leukoplakia becomes brown, and then disappears. The method would be good if it was not required to repeat it from time to time. Therefore, it is worth paying attention to the first three.

It is very difficult to identify the disease, so do not be lazy at least once a year to undergo a gynecological examination. With leukoplakia do not joke - because it can be a precancer. And at what stage of the disease, can only tell the doctor after the analysis. Therefore, the best measure to prevent cervical cancer is regular monitoring in the gynecologist's office. Health to you!
