Such a sad tendency showed itself especially strongly in the last century, although the prerequisites for this always existed. The Great Patriotic War is the main reason for the fact that the life expectancy in the USSR for men has declined markedly. Those who did not die at the front, as a rule, returned disabled. Those who have physical health left in order, suffered morally, psychologically, which also affected the number of years lived.

But why has it changed more than one generation, and the life expectancy of men (which in Russia, for example, averages 62 years) is still the same low? There was a new reason. The Soviet power collapsed, and with it the opportunity to "spit at the ceiling" at work disappeared. In the new market economy, the strong sex had to literally "plow", because many see their historical duty to provide a wife, children, parents. That's why a woman lives longer than a man.

Unfortunately, very often the strong half of humanity does not care about their health. In many respects this is due to the fact that since childhood, a stereotype has been laid in their minds that it is not proper for a real man to complain. Therefore they endure to the last, just not to show their weakness. One can also refer here to the unspoken prohibition of men's tears. Very often, the representatives of the stronger sex want to cry no less than women. However, the traditions and foundations of society do not allow this, while tears are a powerful antidepressant that helps to relieve stress. A weak sex can cry when it wants, and no one will see in it something supernatural. That's why a woman lives longer than a man.

Physicians have long established that up to 60 years young ladies practically have no problems with the cardiovascular system, while men often pursue this ailment throughout their life. In addition, the situation worsens to 50 years.

There is a myth that women are weaker. This is true only in relation to physical strength. Roughly speaking, the muscles of the ladies are worse developed. However, this does not prevent them from being more hardy. In addition, women are better tolerated by cold and a long absence of food. The psychological aspect also plays a role: the weaker sex knows that they have a shoulder to lean on in a difficult moment. But the head of the family in many ways have to rely only on themselves. Therefore, men are almost always more anxious and have more problems with the psyche and, as a consequence, with physical health.
