Lavatera: growing from seeds

Many gardeners, landscape designers and landscapers are very popular with the lava. This compact shrub up to one, or even two meters, admires its large and bright flowers, streaking all branches. They bloom almost all summer - beginning in July and practically until the frosts.

Amazing flower - the lavaera! Her seeds are sold almost in all stalls, but for some reason, for many lovers of summer residents this beautiful bush is a wonder.

Lavatera belongs to the Malvov family and today it has many varieties. Her homeland is considered to be Northern Africa, Syria and Southern Europe, but she does not feel bad in our temperate climate either. Lavatera, whose flower resembles the shape of a bell, is of a variety of colors, but the most popular are red, pink, white and yellow.

Lavatera: growing from seeds

There are both annuals (for example, love lones, mont blank, pink beauty, rose beauty, ruby regis, silver cup, white beauty, white cherub, trimestris) and perennial plant varieties (thuringica). The names of this wonderful shrub in Russian - garden rose, hathma, lavatera. Cultivation from seeds - the occupation is not fast, requires patience and bestowal. In the spring, in mid-April-early May, the hathmu is put on a seedbed under a film or in peat pots. When the seedlings grow, they can be safely planted on a bed. It is advisable to do this in the early morning or late evening in cloudy weather, so that the lavater quickly took root and became stronger. Otherwise, young plants can wither from the bright sun. To allow the bushes to develop freely, the distance between them must be maintained at least 30 cm. The leaves of the garden rose are spread out and can cover each other with sunlight.

Care

I want to note that there are no special tricks in the breeding of such a wonderful plant as the lava. Cultivation from seeds is the main method of its reproduction. She, like most flowers, prefers sunny places. These flowers do not like too moist soils, although they do not tolerate the drought very well: the plant starts to dump the leaves with insufficient watering. To fertilize the lava is not particularly demanding, it is enough to make fertilizer in early spring, when the bush is planted in the ground.

Pests

Lavatera, growing out of seeds Which occurs predominantly in seedlings (which significantly accelerates the growth of this shrub) - rather unpretentious plant. Khatma rarely gets sick, but sometimes it is attacked by aphids or "rust" appears on the leaves. Against pests, it is sprayed with special chemical preparations. There are, of course, folk methods in dealing with aphids. For example, the leaves of a garden rose are sprinkled with a solution of baking soda or laundry soap. Of course, they are not as effective as specially prepared drugs, but they are safe for health and environmentally friendly.

Bouquets from these flowers amaze with their splendor and long stand in the cut. You will not regret if you grow this spectacular, catching sight in your garden.
