"Lada 2170" ("Priora"): technical characteristics, reviews

"Lada Priora-2170" - the car, first released by the company "AvtoVAZ" in 2007 in the back of the sedan. Later, in 2008, the hatchback went into mass production, and in 2009 - the station wagon. It should be noted that in the small-scale production there was also a coupe model. Cars of the "Priora" family have proved to be very reliable and practical, and the price tag on them was relatively low. As of 2016, only a variant in the sedan was left from the entire model range.

History of the model

Lada-2170 itself is almost a complete restyling of the predecessor model, all known "dozens" of VAZ-2110. Thanks to the long and painstaking work of designers, the car turned out quite attractive and quite modern. From the "ten" there was only a similar side view, in the rest it was used more than two thousand unique and completely new details of the exterior, interior and technical part, and the car's design was supplemented by almost a thousand changes. Actually, the developers have achieved the desired - for ignorant in those years, the car looked like a foreign car.

Appearance

"Priora" received a completely new design. From scratch, the hood, trunk lid, fenders (front and rear), moldings, radiator grille, exterior door handles, as well as optics were developed. The front and rear bumper of the 2170th model also underwent changes.

Unlike the tenth family, "Priora" got a smoother transition from the roof to the rest of the body, especially in the area of the rear door pillar. By the way, the "top ten" because of its awkward appearance and "hunchbacked" body was jokingly called "pregnant antelope". Accordingly, "Lada Priora-2170" fell to the public in disposition.

If the profile of the car is something like a VAZ-2110, but the same can not be said about the salon. Here, every detail touched change. Activators of the trunk and hood became electronic, which could not but attract attention. One of the most pleasant features of the "Lada-2170" was the presence of a driver's airbag in the base configuration, as well as the front passenger's airbags in the luxury package. Significantly lowered the noise level, the heat and vibration isolation was improved. The only thing left unchanged is the space in the cabin. The saddle of the front seats is very short, which will not allow to fully extend the legs to a sufficiently large person. There is no seat adjustment for height, which is also not very convenient for the driver.

Power point

"Lada-2170", the engine of which was substantially modified and updated, has quite a good dynamics. The eight-valve VAZ-21116 is economical and produces a relatively small capacity of 90 liters. from. Despite this, the unit turned out to be practical and very reliable.

The more perfect VAZ-21126, with the same volume, but already sixteen-valve, received more power and potential. Thanks to the use of foreign components, the resource of which is up to 200 thousand kilometers, the reliability and endurance of the unit has increased. In addition, with the correct configuration of the on-board computer with VAZ-21126, you can "take off" up to 110 forces. There is also a variant of the engine in volume of 1.8 l and capacity of 120 l. With., But it is installed in the "Priory" only tuning studio "Super-auto."

Chassis

When the car suspension system was being modernized, the front pillars with barrel springs were upgraded. But this is practically the only change in relation to the tenth family. That is, instead of modern and more practical L-shaped levers, in the front suspension of the car "Lada-2170" used straight forged levers and abutting in them diagonal jet traction.

In the rest of the "Priora" got an updated electric power steering of the steering column without a reducer, which in some modifications was replaced by a standard GUR, a new and more efficient braking system, supplemented with BAS and ABS systems. Still, we should separately stop on the brakes. What is remarkable, in the 2170th left the drum system of the rear brakes. As manufacturers say, the effectiveness of such a system is quite sufficient with proper compliance with traffic rules and speed limits. The new "Lada Priora", restyled in 2013, has not received any changes on the chassis.

Repair of "Priora"

Due to the fact that the car is produced on the territory of the Russian Federation, and its price is relatively low, spare parts and repair kits can be purchased throughout the country, and at quite affordable prices. The engines used in the Priory are quite simple to handle and can be easily repaired. Accordingly, a knowledgeable person is fully capable of repairing the motor unit on his own. In the suspension system and in the bodywork there is also nothing complicated - the breakdown can be easily eliminated manually using original spare parts with minimal costs of money. Repair "Priora" is unlikely to cost a pretty penny, but in the case of ignorance of the car it is better not to climb alone and go to the nearest service station, where qualified specialists will be able to provide competent assistance.

In mid-2016, AvtoVAZ announced its intention to close the Lada-2170 project and to stop the production of the car due to the fact that after the model was launched, several newer and more modern versions of passenger cars (Grant, Kalina- 2 "," Vesta "). Under the decline of the existence of the model, the manufacturer presented to the market two variations of the car - Black Edition and White Edition, which will be released in limited series and only in the luxury package. I want to add that for all the years of the existence of the "Priora" has proved to be quite practical and relatively inexpensive in servicing the national car, which is quite capable of replacing an old foreign car. Of course, it is difficult to compete with modern cars, and that's why Lada-2170 will leave the market in the near future.
