Rear bumper - body protector

In order to secure the rear bumper, an auxiliary part is attached to it - an amplifier or a metal cover. Thanks to this in the collision, the car body practically does not deform, as the whole impact on itself is taken by the protective part. The cover is a profile made of stainless food steel. It completely repeats all forms and curves of the car, so it is perfectly complemented by its exterior. Most often, the lining and amplifiers are made to order, depending on the structure of the car body, but since such a detail is present on the market for a relatively long time, many different models have already appeared that suit certain machines.

The cover on the rear bumper prevents damage to paint and varnish, which covered the car body. After loading various materials and things into the trunk, scratches and scuffs appear in the rear bumper area over time, which look extremely unattractive. If the machine has been previously protected with the necessary metal cover, then it will not be necessary to repaint it. Also worth noting that in the event of an accident it is the bumper amplifier that takes the brunt. If the collision is not strong, the part remains intact. Otherwise, the amplifier itself may be damaged, but the rear bumper of the car retains its original appearance.

The installation of this element on the rear bumper of the machine must certainly be done by professionals in the field. Ways of fastening can be a whole set and they depend both on the model of the car, and on the type of the lining itself. Often, parts of stainless food steel are attached to the body with bolts and nuts, so they last long enough and reliably hold. If, however, a lighter metal is used as the lining, then its mounting is made even faster with the help of bolts or technical glue.

Often amplifiers and lining, which protect the rear bumper, are made of soft plastic. Most often, such accessories are sold complete with protective plates on the machine thresholds. Attach such a detail can even an inexperienced motorist, using a technical glue or a double-sided adhesive tape. However, plastic nozzles and amplifiers for thresholds are not as reliable and durable as their steel counterparts. Plastic parts often need to be changed, they also are not able to absorb most of the impact, if a major accident occurs.

When mounting the protective attachments on the rear bumper of the machine, it is important to attach them as tightly as possible so that moisture and other debris do not accumulate under them. Therefore, glue is often an auxiliary fastening material, even if bolts are used to mount metal amplifiers. It helps fill all the free space between the body and the lining itself, and also provides a more reliable grip of materials. The process of installing the amplifier on the thresholds does not take much time and does not require special skills and abilities.
