Lacing skates. The correct lacing of hockey and figure skates

The correct lacing of hockey skates is a guarantee that your skating will pass in complete comfort. However, if your horse does not fly off his feet, this does not mean that he is properly laced up. A small gap may not be felt, but the wrong lacing of the skates - poor movement during the game or riding. This is very important, since the main thing in hockey is the speed of movement.

Choosing skates

Only branded shoes are of good quality, as they are designed with all the features of the foot, which ensures maximum comfort. Choosing skates should be exactly in size, if you do not comply with this rule, the period of their use will be greatly reduced, and the likelihood of injury will increase, which is very unpleasant.

Measure skates immediately on those socks in which you have to ride. The rigidity and model of shoes are chosen in accordance with the level of skiing. Most importantly - the skates should sit comfortably on your feet and keep your ankles tight. In the case when skates are bought for rest, do not choose sports models, it is better to give preference to a soft and comfortable thing. Lacing hockey skates (photo on the right) is slightly different from lacing curly.

What is lacing?

Lace-up of skates is an important component of comfortable foot stay in the boot. Sewn the boot from bottom to top gradually. To ensure normal blood circulation - weaker in the area of socks, to protect the ankle from injuries and maximum fixation of the heel in the area of lifting the leg - denser. The upper hooks are weaker, this is necessary to increase comfort. Pull the shoelaces from the top of the hooks around them. To improve the leg's grasp with the boot and to facilitate lacing, its area is trying to make it softer. It is advisable before the first skating to lace up and unlace the shoes several times. Also these actions can be performed even during the skiing.

The tricks of successful lacing

It is important to know: the shoe will not sit on your leg well until you perform the correct lacing. For this you need to remember a few tricks. First, the laces should not be thick in any case. It is better to give preference to nylon, they stretch well.

Secondly, in the area of flexion of the foot, the shoes are tightened, then tightened with a simple knot with an additional crossing of the lacing over the knot itself. Third, it is better to do lacing in the direction from the outside to the inside. Crosses from the laces will lie on the shoe tongue. This kind of lacing provides tight fit of the shoe to the foot. The correct lacing of hockey skates, the photo of which is presented in the article, will avoid many injuries.

The correct distribution of tension

Many make a big mistake, tightening the lacing tightly directly near the fingers, thereby violating blood circulation. But too easily to leave it is also impossible, because the leg can be scrolled inside the boot, and the sock - separated from the insole. The lower and upper pair of holes are tightened so that the heel is very tightly fitting not only to the back of the boot, but also to the insole. Skate lacing should end with a slight pull, this is necessary if you plan to do deep squats during the ride. A little tip: on each pair of holes or hooks you need to check whether you can sit down.

Which is better: holes or hooks?

Many prefer skates with hooks, and not with holes. Why? Skates are denser and more comfortable sitting on the leg. The lacing process is greatly facilitated. You can freely take off your shoes to warm your feet, there is an opportunity to rest more often. The correct lacing of the figured skates: on the laced skate, the distance between the hooks is 2 or 2.5 cm. When lacing the top of the shoes, the lace is put on top of the hook, then put down under it, then - upward in the direction of the next hook. What happened: a loop around each hook. It is needed to ensure that the lacing works better. After this, it is advisable to check if the shoe is squeezing the leg (check with the squatter). One more thing: with the right lacing, you can not put a finger in your skate.

Lacing figured skates

You have learned how to lace hockey skates, now let's see how to correctly string curly:

  1. We loosen the shoe lacing up to the third hole from the bottom. Pull out the tongue, turn it forward and put on the skate. The foot should feel comfortable staying on the insole, and fill the boot completely. Empty and too free zones should not be (especially with fingers and lifting).
  2. Before you start lacing, move the foot in the boot well, the heel should be in its place.
  3. Skate lacing should start from the toe of the shoe. The tension should be moderately strong so that the skates are snug against the leg, and the toe is not detached from the insole. Also, it should not be too tight, it can disrupt blood circulation in the foot.
  4. As in hockey skates, the lower and upper pairs of hooks are tightened so that the heel is properly attached to the back of the boot.
  5. Figure skating - this is constant attacks and squats. In order to freely perform a trick, lacing should not end with excessive tension. Each pair of hooks should be laced slightly weaker than the previous, but still be dense enough.
  6. Then we try to stand with our legs closed. Check that the heel does not move forward and does not move in different directions. The shoe itself sits tightly on the foot, but comfortable, and the fingers lightly touch the cape of the shoe? Congratulations, you have completed the lacing successfully.
  7. It is customary to bind the shoes several times, so they will sit tight on the leg. But if during skiing you felt something wrong: too much pressure in the boot - loosen the shoelaces, if the position in the leg is too loose - tighten them.

Now you can lace yourself any skates, whether they are hockey or figure skating.
