Kirov Drama Theater: photo, repertoire

Kirov Drama Theater has existed for more than a hundred years. It was created in the second half of the 19th century. To date, his repertoire has performances for both the adult audience and the children's audience.

History of the theater

In 1877, his first performance was shown to the public by the Kirov Drama Theater. Kirov saw a French comedy called "The old is old, but the young is growing." A wooden building was built for the theater. Kirov's drama for more than one hundred years of its existence has experienced both ups and downs. In 1935, the Kirov Drama Theater moved to a new purpose-built building. Photo of this building is presented in this article. It was built according to the project of Moscow architects. In 1939 the first performance in the new building took place - it was the play "Love Spring". During the Great Patriotic War, the Kirov drama hosted the Leningrad BDT, evacuated from the besieged city. In 1977 the theater was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. Today the troupe actively tours the country. For its performances, the theater has repeatedly been awarded honorary prizes and awarded diplomas. Directing laboratory

Kirov Drama Theater opened a director's laboratory. It is led by the famous critic Oleg Loevsky. Within the laboratory, several well-known directors (Yegor Chernyshev, Evgeny Lantsov and Oleg Stepanov) performed mini-productions on the stage of the theater. Supervises the work of Deputy Oleg Loyevsky - Anna Banasyukevich. Directing laboratories are quite common in the theater world. However, for the Kirov drama this was the first experience. The laboratory is ideal for conducting creative experiments. The directors here have the opportunity to show all their capabilities to their full potential and test their strength. Oleg Loevsky in most cases does not allow directors to choose the material for the productions themselves. But the laboratory in Kirov became one of the few exceptions to this rule. Here the directors were given the freedom to choose the production material. Roles in sketch performances are performed by actors of the Kirov drama. The shows of these mini-productions are free and open to the public.

Awards

Kirov Drama Theater named after S.M. Kirov for many years of his creative activity has received many awards. In 1998 in France the troupe received an honorable prize - "Golden Palm". In 2006, at the All-Russian competition of patriotic performances, the theater became a student. He received the award for the production of "Bless the Light Tea." Year 2010 brought the Kirov drama the title of laureate at the festival "Ostrovsky Days in Kostroma", here several actors received diplomas in the nominations "Best Actress" and "Best Actor Duet". In 2011 at the theater festival named after N.Kh. Rybakova staged the Kirov drama "Late Love" became a laureate.
