Depanthenol (candles) is a combined agent with pronounced antimicrobial and regenerating properties. Suppositories are used to treat and prevent infectious and inflammatory diseases of both the uterus and the vagina. Among them are the following: exo- and endocervicitis (including those complicated by ectopia in the cervix of the uterus), vaginitis, erosion (as part of complex treatment, the drug is also used for recovery after surgical interventions and delivery.) This pharmaceutical agent does not interfere with the activity (functional) Lactobacilli.

Depanthenol (candles). Composition

One suppository contains 100 milligrams of dexpanthenol, 16 milligrams of chlorhexidine bigluconate.

Dexpanthenol is a vitamin of group B. It removes inflammation and possesses a regenerating property. In the body, this substance is converted to pantothenic acid. It, in turn, participates in fat and carbohydrate metabolism, as well as in the synthesis of porphyrins, acetylcholine and glucocorticosteroids. This vitamin is involved in the process of normalization of cellular metabolism, improves the strength of collagen fibers and accelerates mitosis.

The second active substance - chlorhexidine - has antiseptic and antimicrobial properties. It is active against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria (streptococci, staphylococcus, enterococcus, chlamydia and others), protozoa, yeast-like fungi, dermatophytes. That is why the drug "Depanthenol" (candles) retains its healing properties even in the presence of pus, blood, organic substances and secrets.

Each suppository has a weight of 3 grams. The preparation is produced in packages of five or ten pieces each.

Depanthenol (suppositories) is used to improve the recovery of vaginal mucosa and cervix after some destructuring types of surgical interventions, including cryodestruction, diathermocoagulation, and laser destruction.

Method of medicament use

Depanthenol (suppositories) (the instruction informs about it) is used intravaginally. Immediately before the procedure, the suppository is released from the sealed package. It is recommended to put one candle twice a day. The duration of the course of therapy is from seven to ten days. If necessary, treatment can be extended to twenty days.

The cases of overdose with the form of the drug in question are not fixed.

Depanthenol (suppositories) is contraindicated in case of individual intolerance to the components of the patient.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

This medication is not forbidden to use for therapeutic purposes when carrying the fetus and breast-feeding.

Depanthenol (suppositories) - reviews of patients confirm this - may have the following side effects: burning, itching, allergic reactions. All of them pass, as a rule, after the drug is discontinued, therefore, no additional measures are required to eliminate them.

Precautions and special instructions

It should be taken into account that the intravaginal application of these suppositories is incompatible with soap and detergents that include an anionic group (sodium carboxymethylcellulose, saponins, sodium lauryl sulfate).

The drug should be stored at room temperature in a place inaccessible to children. It is undesirable to hit direct sunlight.

Shelf life of the drug is two years from the date of issue indicated on the package. Do not use the medicine if the integrity of the factory packaging is violated.
