Instructions, as in the "Word" turn the sheet

The Microsoft Word program is one of the most popular text editors at the moment. In view of this, it would seem foolish to have no such function in it as changing the orientation of the sheet.

Everyone is accustomed to working with portrait orientation (the sheet is located vertically), but the landscape one (the sheet is horizontal) is used less often, however, since it may be needed, this article will discuss how to turn the sheet horizontally in the Vorda.

Foreword

Before you turn the sheet in the Vord, you should talk a little about the nuances that you need to know before you start.

First of all, pay attention to the fact that when you change the orientation of the sheets, the collection of ready-made sheets as well as covers will change.

Another difference is the version of the program. This article will consider the "Word" of 2016, but the operation presented is applicable to absolutely all other versions. Note that the instruction to change the orientation of the sheet in the program that will be applied may not be suitable for different versions of the "Word", but the differences will be small: in some tab will be called differently, and in some tool itself, but Meaning will be identical.

After the introduction, you can go directly to the instructions, as in the "Word" turn the sheet.

We flip the sheet throughout the document

So, first of all, open the document in which you want to change the position of the sheet. Then open the "Layout" tab and find the "Page Setup" tool group in it. In this group there will be an "Orientation" button, which you need to press. It is worth noting that in previous versions of the program, the "Layout" tab is referred to as "Page layout".

After pressing the button, a menu will appear, in which you will be offered two options: "Book" and "Landscape". Select the desired one and click on it. Now you know where the Vord album is. As a result of the performed operations, the orientation will change to the one you need.

Combine portrait orientation with landscape in one document

We figured out how to turn the sheet in the Vord. But, as mentioned above, when using this method, its position will change throughout the document. Let's now figure out how to expand the sheet in the "Word", without changing the orientation of neighboring sheets, because this may also be needed.

So, initially you should select that fragment of text that you want to place on a sheet that is placed horizontally. Here it is worthwhile to make a small remark, saying that after all the manipulations that will be presented below, only the selected fragment will fall on the album sheet, the rest of the text will be transferred to the following pages, located vertically.

Select the text, go to the "Layout" tab. On it, in the same group of tools, click on the "Fields" button. In the menu that opens, you will need to select "Custom fields".

A dialog box opens, in which, under the "Fields" tab, you need to mark "landscape" in the "Orientation" area. Then find the "Apply" drop-down list and select "to the selected text", otherwise the landscape orientation of the sheet will apply to all pages. Click "OK" button.

Now you can observe how the part of the text that was highlighted by you earlier was transferred to a sheet, the orientation of which is landscape, and the rest of the text remained on the book pages, but the sequence of the text did not change. So simply you can combine differently oriented sheets in one document.

Conclusion

Finally I would like to mention one more way of printing text on different sheets. It will suit a minority, since it complicates the process several times, but it will be understood by those who did not understand the previous method.

So, the essence is simple - you need to transfer from the document the text that you want to place in the album sheet, into another document with such formatting (how to do it, read in the first method), and leave the rest in the document with the portrait orientation. As a result, it remains only to print two documents and combine the sheets sequentially.
