Infrasound is ... Infrasound Influence per Person

Rarely does anyone think about how many different sounds exist in nature. Few people know that the sound itself does not exist, but what a person hears is just a transformed wave of a certain frequency. The hearing aid that people have is able to convert some of these waves into sounds that we are used to. However, this is only a small fraction of all those frequencies that surround everyone. Some of them, which can not be heard without special devices, are capable of causing significant harm to the human body.

The concept of

Infrasound is a sound wave that has a frequency of less than 16 Hz. In the existing world there are a lot of sounds, and they all have a different range. The human hearing aid is designed to receive sounds that have a frequency of at least 16 oscillations per second, but not more than 18-20. Such oscillations are measured in hertz (Hz). However, similar sound vibrations can be either above or below this range. Such inaudible human frequencies are so-called areas in which ultrasound and infrasound exist. These oscillatory processes are absolutely not audible by the person, however, at the same time they can influence different processes, including the human organism.

The human brain is designed in such a way that it can perceive only a small part of those phenomena occurring in the sound environment, which can reach the inner ear, its peripheral receptor devices. In this case, the perception of such acoustic waves will be determined by several factors, including the focus of attention, the resolving power of the receptors, and the speed of transmission along the nerve pathways.

Sound

As mentioned, the frequency range of infrasound is below the range of human perception of sounds. The essence of infrasound is not different from other sounds. In general, sound is called elastic waves, which move in a certain medium and with their such movements create mechanical vibrations. In other words, sound can be called the movement of air molecules, which occurs as a result of the oscillation of any physical body. As an example, you can bring the oscillations that come from stringed instruments. In order for sound to spread, there must be an air environment. It is well known that there is always silence in a vacuum. This is due to the fact that as a result of physical action, there are reciprocating movements of air, which in turn cause compression and rarefaction waves.

Infrasound Features

Infrasound is a low-frequency wave process, and although its physical essence is the same as that of another sound, it has several characteristics. Thus, low-frequency waves have a large penetrating power. This is due to the fact that they are characterized by a small absorption. Infrasound, distributed at the depth of the ocean or in the airspace near the ground, having a frequency of ten to twenty hertz, usually fades out, having overcome a thousand kilometers by only a few decibels. The same insignificant dispersion of infrasonic waves occurs also in the natural environment. This is due to the huge wavelength. So, the last value, if the infrasound frequency is 3.5 Hz, will be about 100 meters. The only thing that can significantly affect the dispersion of these acoustic waves is large objects (high-rise buildings and structures, mountains, rocks, etc.). These two factors - small absorption and low scattering - contribute to the transfer of infrasound to long distances.

For example, such sounds as volcanic eruptions or nuclear explosions can repeatedly bypass the surface of the globe, and waves that appear as a result of some seismic vibrations can overcome the entire thickness of the planet. As a result of these reasons, infrasound, whose influence on a person is very negative, is almost impossible to isolate, and all materials used for soundproofing and sound absorption lose their properties at low frequencies.

Infrasound and processes occurring in the human body

As already noted, the length of the low-frequency wave is quite large, so its penetration into the human body, into its tissues, too, can be expressed to a large extent. To put it figuratively, a person, although he does not hear the infrasound with his ears, he hears him with his whole body. Infrasound per person can act differently, it can coincide with many processes occurring in the human body. After all, many organs also create certain sounds. For example, the heart at a reduction creates infrasound with a frequency of 1-2 Hz, the brain during sleep - from 0,5 to 3,5 Hz, and during its active work - from 14 to 35 Hz. Naturally, if external infrasonic fluctuations somehow coincide with the fluctuations occurring in the human body, then the latter will only increase. And this reinforcement can eventually lead to damage to the organ, its frustration, or, in general, to rupture.

Sources in nature. Sea waves

Nature literally permeates infrasound. This is caused by many phenomena, including sudden pressure drops, volcanic eruptions, seismic activity, and hurricanes, as well as many other factors. Numerous studies carried out on people caught in the zone of low-frequency waves, gave scientists reason to believe that infrasound is dangerous for a person, for his health. These waves provoke the loss of sensitivity of organs designed to regulate body equilibrium. In turn, this loss is the cause for earaches, brain damage, pain in the spine. Some scientists and psychologists believe that infrasound is the main and most serious cause of psychological disorders.

It exists always, even when people believe that silence reigns in the atmosphere. Sources of infrasound are different and diverse. The impacts of sea waves on the shore, firstly, cause small seismic fluctuations in the bowels, and secondly, contribute to changes in air pressure. With the help of special barometers, it is possible to catch such oscillations. Powerful gusts of wind, combined with sea waves, are a source of powerful low-frequency waves. They move with the speed of sound, and spreading through the waves of the sea, even more intensified.

Predictors

Such infrasounds are harbingers of a storm or a hurricane. It's no secret that animals have a unique ability to predict such natural phenomena. For example, jellyfish, which even before the storm begins to move away from the coast. This ability of prediction, according to some scientists, is also present in individual people. Since ancient times, people were known who, looking at a calm and serene sea, could announce an imminent storm. When studying this fact it turned out that such people feel pain in the ears, which are caused by infrasonic waves. In addition, low-frequency waves that appear as a result of a storm affect the behavior of a person, his psyche. This can be expressed both in malaise, memory impairment, and in increasing the number of suicidal attempts.

Earthquakes and volcanic eruptions

Infrasound in nature can also occur as a result of an earthquake. With its help, for example, the Japanese are predicting the rapid occurrence of tsunamis, which arise as a result of underwater seismic activity. Boris Ostrovsky, a researcher in this field, says that in the World Ocean more than fifty thousand underwater earthquakes occur each year, and each of them creates infrasound. This phenomenon and its mechanism are characterized by the following. It is well known that seismic activity arises as a result of accumulation of energy in the earth's crust. In the end, this energy is released, and the crust is torn. It is these forces that create low-frequency oscillations. At the same time, the intensity of infrasound is directly proportional to the intensity of energy in the earth's crust. During an underwater earthquake, transverse low-frequency waves travel through the water column and further, reaching the ionosphere. The ship that has entered the area of radiation of such waves will be affected by infrasound. If such a vessel will stay in the specified area for a long time, it can become a so-called resonator. That is, in other words, the next source of low-frequency waves. This ship will transmit, like dynamics, infrasound. The influence on this person of this factor is sometimes the reason for the people who are on the ship to have inexplicable fear, which often turns into horror. Some researchers argue that this is the key to discovering ships in the open sea without a crew. People who find themselves in this situation are looking for ways out, escaping from the ship, just to hide from this inaudible sound, which drove them to insanity.

The more the intensity of low-frequency oscillations, the greater the panic can cover people on the ship-resonator. This inexplicable horror of human consciousness will be interpreted, its cause will be sought. Perhaps this is what influenced the appearance of such common myths as calling sirens. If we study the ancient myths in more detail, we can assume that the rowers laying their ears with soundproof devices, as well as other members of the crew of the ship, who tied themselves to the masts, tried to protect themselves in this way. It was a kind of protection against infrasound.

In the history of many cases, when the ship was discovered with the dead bodies of the crew. And here the theory of infrasound is applicable. As mentioned above, if it coincided with the frequencies published by the internal organs of man, then, as a rule, many times increased. This enhanced infrasound was quite capable of breaking internal organs, therefore, causing sudden death. The murderous infrasound was most likely responsible for several deaths in 1957 in Mongolia. Then, on December 4, there was a powerful earthquake. According to eyewitnesses, some people, including shepherds, pastured cattle, literally fell dead before the start of the Gobi-Altai earthquake.

Volcanic eruptions are another source of infrasound. The frequency of waves of the infrasound appearing at the same time is about 0.1 Hz.

According to some statements, all sorts of ailments that appear in people during bad weather are caused by nothing else than infrasound.

Production sources

Unlike nature, which does not so often complicate a person's life with their low-frequency sounds, the infrasound that appears as a result of human activity has an increasingly negative impact on people. These low-frequency waves appear together with the same processes in which sounds are heard and heard by man. One of these is considered shots from guns, explosions, sound radiation emanating from jet engines.

Factory compressors and fans, diesel plants, all kinds of slow-running units, urban transport are all sources of infrasound. High-power low-frequency waves cause the meeting of two train trains at speeds, as well as the passage of a train in a tunnel.

The further the humanity develops, the more powerful and voluminous machines and mechanisms are developed and produced. Accordingly, this is accompanied by the intensification of the created infrasonic waves. A particular danger is the infrasound in production due to the fact that it is not fully understood in this field.

Infrasound and Man

The negative impact of infrasound on humans is confirmed by many studies. Some scientists believe that it has an undoubted negative influence not only on the body, but also on the psyche of people. Thus, experiments that astronauts are subjected to, allow us to say that subjects with low-frequency waves solve less simple mathematical problems more slowly.

Scientists in the field of medicine have determined that at a vibration frequency of 4-8 Hz, a dangerous resonance of the abdominal cavity is detected. During the tug of this area, the increase in the frequency of sounds was observed with the straps, however the infrasound effect on the organism did not cease.

One of the largest resonating objects in the human body is the heart and lungs. In cases where their frequencies coincide with external low-frequency waves, they are subject to the most severe fluctuations, which eventually lead to cardiac arrest and damage to the lungs.

Many works of scientists are devoted to the effects that infrasound has on the brain. On a human, low-frequency waves can act differently. Studies have shown that there is a certain similarity in the effects of alcohol and the influence of infrasound. So, in both cases, both these factors actively inhibit mental work.

On the circulatory system, low-frequency waves also have a negative effect. Researchers in this area have conducted experiments. As a result, subjects who were subjected to infrasound were observed to have a sharp decrease in blood pressure, arrhythmia, respiratory failure, fatigue and other disturbances in the body's normal functioning.

All met with a situation where, after a long and tedious trip on motor transport or sailing on the sea, a bad state occurs, in which a vomitive reflex appears. Usually people in such cases say that they are sick. However, this is the immediate impact of infrasound, which manifests itself in the action on the vestibular apparatus. Interestingly, with the help of infrasound in ancient Egypt priests tortured their captives. They connected them, and by means of a mirror and sunlight reflected in the victim's eyes, they sought appearance in the last convulsions. It was the influence of infrasound. The will of such prisoners was suppressed, and they were forced to answer the questions they asked.

Conclusion

And although ultrasound and infrasound have not been fully studied yet, and there are many gaps in their understanding, the latter has been associated with people with some kind of natural cataclysms since ancient times. Their subconscious mind allowed them to avoid many troubles, and the infrasound itself was perceived by a person as a harbinger of something bad. With the passage of time this feeling of humanity gradually atrophied. However, even now, suddenly, the inexplicable fear that has come from can warn a person against something bad, forcing him to flee far away and hide from overtaking terror.
