In China, built a solar farm that looks like a giant panda

Most solar farms in form resemble a grid, as builders try to align their panels in vast areas. However, the newly built solar power plant in Datong (China) is quite unexpected design. China Merchants New Energy Group, the largest Chinese operator of clean energy, built a 100 hectare solar farm in the shape of a huge panda.

New cooperation project

The first stage, which includes the construction of a plant with a capacity of 50 megawatts, ended on June 30. This plant has just begun to supply energy to northwest China. Another "panda" will be completed by the end of this year.

A solar farm called Panda Power Plant in 25 years will be able to provide 3.2 billion kW / h of solar energy. This will allow to abandon approximately one million tons of coal needed to produce the same amount of electricity, and therefore reduce CO 2 emissions by almost 3 million tons.

The company worked on the Development Program with the United Nations to develop and build a new power plant. This project is part of a larger effort to raise awareness of Chinese youth about clean energy.

Over the next few years, the company hopes to build as many solar power stations in China as possible.
