Traumatic pistol МР-353: review, characteristics, price

Over the past few years, the market for traumatic weapons in Russia has expanded significantly due to domestic production models. Of course, not all new Russian pistols are in the nature of supporters of the rubber defense, but there are among them samples that deserve special attention. We will talk about one of them.

History of creation

The history of the PJA originates in 1993, when its prototype "Grach" under the index MP-443 won the contest of the Ministry of Defense of the USSR. He was called upon to replace the then-equipped Makarov gun (PM), which had proved itself over many years of use, but did not meet modern requirements. But why was it necessary to change the proven PM to something that is not known?

The fact is that the cheap and ultra-reliable "Makarov" used a standard cartridge 9x18 mm, which did not meet the requirements for the newest weapon. Given the difficult post-Soviet period, MR-443 Grach was adopted by the Russian Army only ten long years later, and five years later it became a regular weapon and the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. On the basis of the PJ, several commercial and sport pistols were created, including the MR-446 "Viking", which became the prototype of the MR-353.

In the late 2000s, with the increasing popularity of weapons of traumatic action, weapons factories began to mass-produce rubber bands, which are copies of or modified from military models. In 2009, the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant at the exhibition "Arms and Hunting" first introduced the MP-353 pistol. And a year later its mass production began. Since the first days, the civil copy of "Grach" has gained immense popularity among the population, having established itself primarily from the best side. Thanks to this, it is still being manufactured by the plant today, and it can be bought in any arms store throughout Russia.

Appointment

MR-353 is a limited-destruction fire pistol designed for active self-defense. For shooting, bullets with rubber bullet type 45 Rubber manufactured by PKP "AKBS" (Nizhny Novgorod) or ZAO "Techcrim" (Izhevsk) are used. According to the passport data, the use of the gun is allowed at temperatures from -20 to +50 ⁰ С.

Design Features

Overview of the MR-353 will begin with its design. Outwardly it has turned out pretty nice and modern. But as you can see in the photo of the gun, its design can not be called advanced. On the one hand, there seems to be nothing superfluous, on the other - no hint of asceticism. The size of the gun can be called average, although many would like to wear a more compact model behind the belt.

Unlike its combat "brother", whose construction is based on the short-stroke movement of the barrel, the traumatic pistol MP-353 has a free bolt, and the return spring is located under it. The shutter-casing moves along the guide frames. The frame has a steel resistor, but is covered with plastic from above. All other elements are made of steel. The handle is sporty ergonomic, covered with soft plastic.

On the shutter there is an indicator of the presence of a cartridge in the chamber. This is a small protrusion on the ejector. After the shooting of the last cartridge, the pistol's bolt remains in the extreme rear position. When installing a charged magazine, it returns to the forward position by pressing the shutter release lever on the left side or by slightly pulling the shutter back.

With regard to accuracy, the MP-353 is balanced in such a way that the barrel practically does not flip up when firing. This makes it more convenient than, for example, the same Makarov pistol. Civilian "Grach" allows you to aim shooting at a distance of up to eight meters. The hitness of hit is excellent almost without any variation. Effective range is also limited to eight meters.

Shock-trigger mechanism

Here he is an ordinary horn type. Allows to fire both self-cocking and preliminary platoon with his hand. The design of the trigger is open, but on both sides of its side walls are protected by specially provided projections on the shutter. This is done so that the trigger does not cling to the details of clothing when removing weapons.

Safety when handling a weapon provides a two-way flagging fuse, blocking and searing, and a trigger. This decision made the MP-353 more convenient to use for lefties. The fuse can block the trigger mechanism both in the deflated and in the cocked position.

What's wrong with the trunk?

For any firearm, the barrel is the element on which not only the accuracy of the shooting depends, but also the speed of the bullet's flight, and consequently its damaging force. At МР-353 it is executed from qualitative stainless steel, however, having glanced in it, it is possible to see, that engineers of the Izhevsk mechanical factory have obviously overdone with a design which should interfere shooting with live cartridges. For these purposes, on the inner surface of the trunk there are two welded protuberances of a cone-shaped shape. These "teeth" almost completely overlap each other. However, this does not affect the flight characteristics of the bullet. In order to fully meet the requirements of the forensic service of the forensic service, its barrel is welded to the bolt, so it is almost impossible to remodel it to combat weapons by handicraft.

Ammunition

Russian pistols and revolvers of traumatic action are calculated on usual nine-millimeter rounds which are made in huge quantities by various enterprises. The plant decided not to change anything in the design, leaving the pistol fitted for the Rubber cartridge. In general, this did not affect its popularity in any way, but not everyone liked this caliber. And that's why.

The fact is that in a typical 9mm cartridge, the bullet diameter in the free state is 10 mm, and in 45 Rubber - 12-13 mm. This means that for the same kinetic energy, the first, hitting the target, has a smaller impact area than the second. Naturally, she has much more piercing ability.

Score

The most ill-conceived element in the MP-353 is its store. It is not known why the engineers did this, but instead of seventeen in combat and eighteen in the sporty PY, the rubber resistor store holds only seven cartridges! This has nothing to do with the volume of the handle, nor the size of the mine, nor with any specific requirements of the law. Why did the manufacturer do this, it is unclear. Well at least, that recently there were samples on sale, which can store nine cartridges in the store.

It is noteworthy that the button for retrieving the magazine can also be moved to the other side to adapt the gun to people who are more comfortable with shooting with the left hand.

Sights

At first glance, the upper part of the pistol shutter does not differ in any way from other pistols of this class. In fact, the design of the aiming device is much more interesting than the usual models of traumatic weapons. In the photo of the pistol you can see the base of the sight - light points on the uncontrollable fly and the target, which also glow in the dark. Agree that it is much more convenient to aim at them in the dark, when, in fact, most street crimes are committed. The design of the pistol is equipped with a Picatini bar, which makes it possible to equip it with a laser target designator or tactical flashlight.

MR-353: reviews, advantages, disadvantages

Reviews about the gun are mostly positive, although negative ones also occur. Having studied them, one can judge the main advantages and disadvantages of this resistor.

Benefits:

• Low probability of misfiring (excluding problems associated with cartridges);
• High accuracy for traumatic weapons;
• Convenience for shooting with both hands;
• Comparatively low price.

Disadvantages:

• Low muzzle energy;
• Insufficient store capacity;
• High price for cartridges;
• Hindered platoon platoon and impossibility of its safe descent.

In the responses to the pistol, there are often complaints about the large width of the shutter, because of what allegedly hampered its concealed carrying. Indeed, given the dimensions of the MP-353, the holster with it, even the operative one, will stick out from under the clothes. But on the other hand, for hidden wearing, you can buy weapons with smaller dimensions.

Test results

And now, in order to compare the characteristics of the civilian "Grach" with other samples of traumatic weapons of the same class, let us consider the results of the tests for the initial speed of the bullet flight and the accuracy, carried out by the magazine "Kalashnikov" in 2014. For comparison, PDT-13T "Esaul-3" and MP-80-13T "Makarych" were taken.

The MP-353 began to win with the first test - measuring the initial speed of the bullet, which was 316 m / s, while the maximum values of Esaul and Makarycha did not exceed 249 and 300 m / s, respectively. But for the sake of accuracy, the MP-80-13T has bypassed everyone, but here the human factor could have played a role.

MR-353: price

As for the cost of the gun, it can not be said that this is a cheap weapon. Depending on the modification, the price for it in different regions can vary within the limits of 20-30 thousand rubles. But you will agree that safety is much more expensive.

The result

To summarize, we can say that the traumatic pistol MR-353 really deserves attention as a modern and reliable weapon of self-defense. It is convenient, ergonomic, has a good aiming structure, is quite effective for self-defense, and also easily adapts to the requirements of the left-hander. The only disadvantage of this gun is its size, but it's not so critical.
