Hysteria in children. How to survive this difficult period?

With hysterics in children , almost all parents face. Many of them sometimes lose all patience and have absolutely no idea how to be in this situation. That's why they ask themselves questions about what to do if a child rolls up hysterics. Let's understand.

Hysterics in children usually begin at the age of 1.5-2 years. The kid, who was a pretty little angel yesterday, is turning into a capricious stubborn, capable of leading his parents to white heat. It is fair to say that this behavior is not always demonstrated by the child. Very often hysterics in children are provoked by poor health, fatigue, emotional overload. For example, if a toddler is not feeling well, he can throw a tantrum literally on a flat spot, whereas in the ordinary state it could easily be distracted or switched to something else. Therefore, one should not lead a tired, hungry or deformed baby to the store (to the post office, etc.). It is also very important to dose out emotions and impressions, even the most positive ones. If the entertainment program is excessively saturated (for example, a puppet theater, and then a trip to the zoo or to attractions), the karapuz may eventually begin to be capricious simply from an excess of feelings, or rather, from emotional fatigue.

Very often tantrums in children happen in crowded places: shops, public transport. And in this case, parents are particularly uncomfortable, because they are condemned by others. The most important thing in this situation is to calm down, stop winding yourself and not pay attention to passers-by, advising to take the baby in your arms, give a pope, or buy a car for an unhappy child. It is best to take the child out and let him come to himself. However, to scold him in this state is simply meaningless, to begin with, the baby needs to calm down.

Hysteria in children is not only tears and screams. Many kids know how to ride on the floor, fall and knock with their feet, without forgetting to say it. Some youngsters go even further and fight against the floor or wall with their heads, pull their hair, scratch their faces and even cause vomiting (the latter, fortunately, happens rarely enough). Sometimes the children turn blue during crying. In principle, the hysterics in children - a phenomenon quite normal, but if they occur too often and unreasonably, and also accompanied by any alarming symptoms, you should show the crumbs to a competent neurologist.

If a child rolls up hysterics, what should parents do? As already mentioned, first of all you should calm down and remember that almost all the youngsters pass through it. Secondly, you need to deprive the crumb of the opportunity to play with the public (ideally, it is best to leave it alone if this is of course possible). Because persuasion in this situation is practically powerless, the child simply will not hear them. And after the baby calms down, you should talk to him about the situation, analyze his behavior, voice his feelings ("you were upset because we did not buy a car"), and explain that such a manifestation of emotions is unacceptable ("even if you were upset , Shouting to the whole street should not be "). It is possible from time to time to play the scenes with the help of the favorite toys of the youngster, and again and again pronouncing the situation and showing him how to act in one way or another (correctly and incorrectly).

Hysteria in children can try to warn. As soon as the crumb begins to be capricious, it must be redirected to perform any actions ("look, what a bug", "bring me that pack of juice"). Some children are helped by strong embraces and various "ticklers". Also, do not always go for the principle - sometimes the child can and give way by buying this most ill-fated machine, but only if the hysteria has not yet begun. And if the kid has already entered into a rage, indulgence to do late, otherwise he will understand that with tears and cry you can achieve a lot. In addition, it is very important that the policies of all family members are similar. Situations when mother does not react to cries, and dad immediately rushes to do everything that a beloved child requires, can make hysterics a habitual way of manipulation and tighten them for a very long time.
