How to read music: a few tips for beginning musicians
Piano music extremely favorably affects both the psychological and physical state of a person. Unfortunately, in our age of crazy rock music and fashionable electronic compositions for inspirational instrumental melodies there is almost no room left. And meanwhile, the piano is not just an instrument, it's a real living being that can express almost any emotion: triumph, despair, sadness, love ... Real masters can play almost any style, from classical works to free jazz improvisations. However, each of them at first studied for a long time how to read music.
The first thing to learn in order to understand how to read notes is that they can have different lengths. Uncolored notes without "tails" are whole notes that sound throughout the bar. If the note has a "tail", but the interior is still empty, it is called half. It sounds for half a bar. Also there are concepts of the fourth and the eighth notes - they sound even shorter, consist of a shaded oval, a wand and a tail (in the eighth tail there are two).
The next thing to dwell on when learning how to read notes is the so-called signs of alteration. We all know them since the school years: flat (lowers the note by a half-tone), sharp (increases the note by a half-tone) and békar (cancels the previous two signs). If the signs are used in the middle of the music text, then they act until the end of the current measure. In case they are written out next to the keys, they are preserved throughout the whole work and are canceled only in the presence of a bakar (again, for only one measure).
Sometimes, to get the desired sound, several notes are used, forming a chord. In this case, the necessary notes are located on one level, one on top of the other, and you need to press them simultaneously.
However, this is only a small fraction of the knowledge that is needed to understand how to read music. In addition to the duration, the sounds may differ in the nature of the sound. There are the terms Staccato and Legato. The first means that you need to hit the keys quickly, the sound should be "jerky". In the second case, on the contrary, it is necessary to achieve smoothness.
Studying the art of how to read notes for a piano, you will also come up with different tempos. As a rule, the necessary tempo is indicated at the very beginning of the work (for example, Adagio is "slow", Moderato is "moderately", Allegro is "soon", etc.). There are special notes indicating that you need to increase or decrease the volume of the game.
Of course, it's almost impossible to talk about how to learn to read music in one article. Therefore, all wishing to master a truly virtuosic game is, at least, to have a good self-teacher (if there is no possibility to visit the teacher). And, of course, do not forget to be inspired by listening to recognized maestros of past ages and modern times.
