One of the easiest ways. To do this, you need 20 kg of potatoes (if you need more or less, you can multiply increase or decrease the proportions), 30 liters of boiled water, a kilogram of malt, yeast (preferably compressed) - they need a gram of 250-300. As for sugar, then, making home-brewed homemade potatoes, it does not need to be added at all, which reduces the cost of the natural product to a minimum.

A little information on organic chemistry. Potato tubers do not contain sugar. And he, as is known, is necessary for the formation of alcohol. Otherwise, the hot drink will not work. But the tubers contain starch, the molecules of which are broken down by malt into the necessary sugar. Of the frozen potatoes, it is more.

Therefore, without malt, nothing will turn out. Agree, it is much more economical to use it, not sugar. The latter requires a minimum of 5 kg instead of 0.5 kg malt. Their price is approximately the same in the market. Here also consider.

Stages of preparation

  1. Grind the potatoes. You can do this in any accessible way. Grater, chopper, food processor to help you. The received raw materials are lowered into a container.
  2. Then pour water. Initially, all the water should not be poured. Take only 2/3 of the required amount.
  3. Add the malt and heat the whole mixture to 60-70 degrees and "hold" it for 1-1.5 hours. Such a procedure is necessary for the chemical reaction of the breakdown of starch into sugar. Otherwise, both raw materials and work will be wasted. Important! Do not allow the mass to burn, otherwise the drink will have an unpleasant taste.
  4. We cool the wort and pour it into another volume for the fermentation process. Before that, we were dealing with the production stages of obtaining sugar from the wort. Without it, it would not have turned out the necessary brag, from which the moonshine from potatoes at home is then distilled.
  5. In a container with a deposit, where the wort was originally, fill the remaining water (remember that initially we used only 2/3), brought to a temperature of 50 degrees. Thoroughly mix.
  6. After precipitation of the precipitate, this liquid is poured into the total mass of the wort. Now add diluted with water yeast for fast fermentation process. We close the vessel with a lid with a gas outlet tube, on which we traditionally put on a medical glove. Just do not forget to make a small hole in one of the "fingers" so that it does not rupture. Some install a water seal. By the way, you can make our moonshine without yeast. But then it will take a very long time. In this case, the most important and responsible process - the distillation of the barge - is postponed for several months. And this is while maintaining the right temperature! It's unprofitable.

Fusel oils are a group of toxic substances of red-brown or light-yellow color. If moonshine, including potato, has a disgusting taste and smell, then, most likely, it contains a large concentration of harmful substances. Its use can cause harm to health. It is an unpleasant smell that accompanies fusel oils.

What is the danger?

A large percentage of these substances in the brew can lead to even a fatal outcome. Therefore, do not underestimate such "trifles" as oils. A smaller dose can cause dizziness, loss of consciousness, nausea. There is a chance of a malfunction of the gastrointestinal tract, kidneys and liver.

The final stage - we clean moonshine from potato from "silage"

There are different ways. The first of them is cleansing with activated carbon. One of the most effective options. Activated charcoal is able to remove from our moonshine not only "siwu", but also various ethers, acetic acid.

The substance is placed in tubes. It is advisable to use glass or stainless steel. The length of the tube is not less than 70 cm. This is a future filter. On its day (moonshine will come from above) we fix gauze so that the coal does not spill out. We fall asleep in the filter "active stuffing" and rinse with clean water, so that our potato strong drink does not turn black. Moonshine is poured from above, and it gradually drains down through the cheesecloth, leaving all the harmful concentrates in the tube.

Most misuse activated charcoal for cleaning alcohol. They fall asleep in alcohol and leave it for a while. Coal, of course, absorbs all unnecessary and dangerous substances. But after a while, the "sebum" dissolves again in the beverage, forming additionally undesirable aldehydes for the body. Thus, with this filtration, the opposite effect occurs.

Milk cleaning

The only drawback - the product turns muddy, which does not inspire confidence at first glance. But milk also copes well with the role of the filter. When cleaning the moonshine, you need to pay attention to the fortress. It is important that it contains more than 60 percent alcohol. This affects the folding of the protein, and hence the effectiveness of filtration. For 10 liters of alcohol, add 100 g low fat pasteurized milk.

The process lasts about one week. Alcohol is mixed thoroughly with milk and placed in a place protected from sunlight. Room temperature is ideal.

Whitish flakes are a sure sign of filtration. This separates all harmful elements from the liquid. Sediment with this filtration is removed. It is a concentrate of fusel oils.

After a week, moonshine must be passed through cotton wool, folded in several layers. If all these rules are observed, the filtering process will be successful. You can not be afraid for your health and the health of your loved ones.

Manganese filtration

In our opinion, the easiest way. A couple of grams of crystals dissolve in one liter of alcohol and leave for a day in a warm room. It is advisable to avoid exposure to sunlight.

If the liquid became lighter and a precipitate formed in it, then everything goes according to plan. After that, alcohol should be passed through a normal water filter.

Freezing method

This method is rarely used among fans to make moonshine at home (from potatoes, berries or fruits - not the essence is important). Alcohol is placed in freezers and frozen. Real and pure alcohol never turns into ice. It is gently drained. The remaining ice can not be added to the beverage for cooling purposes, since it contains all the concentrate of harmful substances that can be poisoned. This method is one of the most effective, since at the level of physical laws harmful substances can not enter into alcohol at long negative temperatures.
