All children like to reincarnate in fairy-tale heroes. Their first acting roles they beat already in the kindergarten. Of course, in the dreams of every girl - to become a wonderful princess, and the boy - a brave knight. But if it is enough to buy a beautiful and long dress for turning a baby, then to equip a warrior, you will need a special suit and accessories. The first and, perhaps, the main attribute of the whole knightly outfit is the headdress. So, you want to make the boy an original carnival costume in a modern way? Then read one of the many ways how to make an iron man's helmet. The instruction is given in the form of a step-by-step guide with comments.

From what and how to make an iron man's helmet: preparation

Before you begin to work, you need to decide on several points:

  • For what purpose is it planned to make a headdress?
  • What will the future product look like;
  • What will be its technological and functional characteristics.

If you plan to make part of the costume, for example, on New Year's matinee, do not complicate the work too much. It makes sense and as much as possible to simplify the functionality of the helmet and the technology of its manufacture. In the case of the construction of this basic component of the superhero costume (photo 1), for example, in an exhibition of the work of senior schoolchildren, we need an entirely different approach. It will have a special meaning and appearance, and its manufacturability. This instruction: "How to make an iron man's helmet" is presented in the form of a description of the initial stages. Plan further work depending on the desired result, using different raw materials and technology.

Necessary materials

To make a pattern, use a rather dense landscape paper or Whatman. Line with a simple pencil. For cutting, you will need a clerical knife, ordinary scissors and small ones, such as manicure (for accurate decoration of corners and grooves). For a simplified version of the helmet, use a corrugated cardboard (shop box from products, cosmetics, etc.). All parts are connected with a durable and quick-drying glue (such as "Moment") manually or with a special gun. For external design (covering of parts and their binding) you will need a scotch of different colors. The unfolding of an iron man's helmet can also be made of less dense material. This option is used in the event that it is planned to gypsum the parts and further connect them, for example, with magnets.

Building a Template

Picture 2 shows the drawings of an iron man's helmet. Parts of the pattern will be located on the following parts of the head:

  1. Ear.
  2. The Dark One.
  3. Rear.
  4. Chin-and-cheek.
  5. The nasal.
  6. The frontal.

Knowing this condition, the parts cut from the paper will be easy to assemble into a single product. Picture 1 of the finished helmet will help to distinguish the details, since almost all zones are painted differently and have clear connecting boundaries with each other. But still, before assembling the product into a single whole, arrange the parts in a wide space and mark the places of gluing.

To this headpiece turned out to be volumetric, you need to skillfully arrange the joints. For this, especially in the places of curved lines, make small incisions that will help to make them convex in the case of gluing. Photo 3 clearly demonstrates this stage of work. After assembling all the parts put together, glue in different colors. You can also use colored paper to decorate, which then needs to be covered with a transparent adhesive tape. Give the child an opportunity to fantasize, creating a creative creation on a modern theme.

Application of complex technologies

Picture 4 shows how to make an iron man's helmet from heavy paper (Whatman). If you cover the assembled product on top of a thin layer of gypsum mixture and allow it to dry, you can get blanks for a more technological model. In this case, in the process of work, you need to think about how all removable or sliding parts will be connected together. The simplest and most suitable option for such a technology is the use of internally mounted magnets. Also, in the cheek and chin area, rotate the hinges to make the front parts movable. Outwardly, such a modern helmet can be especially attractive due to the use of a special luminous emulsion when staining. Well, the final stage of work will be the installation inside the craft in the frontal area of mini-bulbs to illuminate the eye grooves. That's all, the helmet is ready!

This original crafts can serve as a basis for creating similar headgear of other fairy-tale heroes. Create, realizing the most unusual fantasies!
