How to make a boat made of paper

All children like to play with water. And it's not so important, where there will be a chance to splash: in a puddle, a lake or a bathroom. Each child will be pleased to present himself as the captain of a ship sailing through a storm, overtaking a team in the midst of a raging sea.

And to please your child, you do not have to buy expensive toys for him. It's enough just to teach him how to make a boat out of paper. This is a fairly easy process, which is not only useful (Japanese art origami develops fine motor skills and instills assiduity and patience), but also fascinating.

So, in order to make a ship made of paper, you need a sheet of rectangular shape. For greater clarity, we took the standard A4 format, which allows us to demonstrate the whole process. But after the reader learns the origami boat, it makes sense to switch to a smaller size of the material. In this case, the result of the work will be more accurate. Yes, and letting on spring brooks such boats will be much easier.

First fold the rectangular sheet in half along the long side. Then we mark the middle of the new figure and apply the upper corners to it so that we get two equal triangles. After this operation is completed, the free strips of paper are bent upward. The protruding corners are bent first on one side, then on the other.

Next comes the process that causes the greatest difficulties for those who do the boat for themselves for the first time. It is necessary to take the resulting "cap" for the middle from both sides, pulling them in different directions, to open the workpiece. At the maximum possible expansion, the future boat will take the form of a diamond, which we need to achieve. We spend fingers on newly formed bends in order to fix a new figure.

Now bend the lower corners of the rhombus upward from both sides. With the resulting triangle, we repeat the operation already known to us: we open it, giving it the shape of a diamond. Our ship of paper is almost ready. The last thing we have left is to pull the side valves of the diamond and straighten the folds and the central triangle.

You can continue to refine the model: paint it, attach a mast, put passengers - options are limited only by the imagination of the future captain. And you can let the boat float so, alone, or in the company of many other ships. When decorating a vessel, one should take into account the fact that, most likely, the finished article will contact with water, and choose the appropriate coloring materials.

Also, perhaps you should prefer a thick or glossy paper (it is often used for printed advertising distributed on the street). In this case, the boat will last longer, and it will not have to be painted, because such leaves often have a bright color, which serves to attract attention.

Do not be afraid to experiment and come up with new options and combinations. In case of failure, there is always an opportunity to make a new boat out of paper, and if the brave master achieves success, he may well become the captain of such a ship.
