How to effectively develop attention and memory?

Scientific and technological progress, which is now very fast, requires a person to process not only a large flow of information, but also to keep in mind a huge amount of various information. According to sociological research that was recently conducted among the population of our country, it turned out that over 80% of the respondents are dissatisfied with their memory and would like to improve it qualitatively. That is why the attention and memory of a person should be developed, since these qualities now rank first in priority. Incidentally, it should also be noted that an attentive person has much greater competitive advantages compared to a distracted person, which largely determines success in life.

So, as everyone knows, everything lends itself to training, so even if a person is distracted, everything can be fixed. How to develop memory and attention and what is needed for this? First of all, it is necessary to find out why we forget about certain things and what is the reason for this process. The main thing is to understand that our brain processes a huge amount of information per unit of time, and most of these processes occur automatically without the participation of a person, in the so-called "unconscious". As for memory, it works constantly for a person, remembering everything that happens around him. Simply, there is one simple rule - if a person does not concentrate on any information, then the memory automatically deletes it from the list of important cases. Therefore, starting to develop memory should be with care. Attention and memory of a person are very strongly connected, since a person will remember well only what he consciously turned his attention to. Knowing this principle, you can gradually begin appropriate training.

Take for yourself the rule after the end of the work day, coming home, lie down on the sofa, relax, and try to remember everything that happened to yours throughout the day. You immediately realize that memory will clearly give you only what you have turned your attention to, and all the small details will be missed. This is the basis of the principle of memory training - the development of mindfulness and concentration. Attention and memory is also good to develop with a simple exercise on matches: pick up several matches and lightly throw them. After they fall on the table, you carefully fix for 10 seconds how they are located, after which, having left to another room, try to repeat exactly the entire picture from other matches.

To schoolboys, and also to everyone who studies any theoretical material, it will be very useful to learn a great way of remembering, in which you can "stuff" the necessary information into long-term memory. It's about the principle of repeating the information at the right time and with the right frequency. In addition, there is also training memory and attention, which, with the regular use of this method will constantly improve.

So, you are looking at the material that you need to study and try to fully understand it. Always remember that if you do not understand something, then it is simply impossible to remember it. That is why, in studying any issue, first of all, it is necessary to achieve a full understanding of the material being studied. After that, you should take a break for 5-6 hours, after which you must once again read what you want to remember. This is very important, because already in 12 hours after studying the material and in the absence of its repetition, memory usually forgets up to 50-70% of the studied material. Therefore, we should remember the saying "repetition is the mother of learning." Then the next day (after sleep), you should re-read the information you are studying, after which it is reliably stored in your long-term memory, so you can always use it at the right time and in the right place.

Thus, attention and memory are easily amenable to training, thanks to which absolutely any person can qualitatively improve their professional skills.
