How to distinguish false honey agarics from honey: tips and tricks

Every autumn thousands of mushroom pickers leave for the forest, giving themselves up to the passion of gathering with all their soul. Someone "hunts" on some strictly defined species of mushrooms, but many adore simply wandering along forest paths, collecting everything that comes across in their path.

But honey mushrooms are the prey, against which no one will object. Nutritious and extremely tasty, they will be an ornament of any table. That's just how to distinguish false honey agarics from the real ones?

It's no secret that these "pogants" come across more often than their edible relatives, so the distinctive features of both species need to be known very well.

First, let's talk about false firearms. It should be noted that so-called not one, but several species of fungi. However, we will not delve into the wilds of botany: they are all very similar, and they are found in the same places.

So how do you distinguish false hamsters from honey, if they grow on the same stumps and trunks of fallen trees?

To do this, you need to clearly imagine the appearance of a normal assessment, because their similarity is very conditional.

The simplest and most important distinguishing feature is the ring under the hat (a kind of life ring). Young mushrooms under the hat have a safety membrane. When the sprout grows, the membrane breaks, and on the stem remains such a ring.

Remember: no mistakes are fake (how to distinguish which, we discuss in the article) do not have such a ringlet! Watch out also for those fungi, in which this protective film is stretched almost along the entire length of the leg: when you see this, you can not doubt that you have encountered any toadstools.

In addition, there are other differences. At normal all the surface of the cap is covered with tiny plates that are slightly difficult to see on the dark surface of the cap.

Note that old mushrooms do not already have such scales. However, to take them in any case is not worth it: the food and taste qualities of "old men" are far from perfect. Before you can distinguish false honey agarics from honey, carefully look closely at the color of the hat itself. In "fakes" the coloring is always somewhat brighter. Color varies from yellow-gray to reddish-yellow. An experienced mushroom picker just needs to look at them to recognize a dangerous species. Normal boned hats always have a calm beige-brown color, which is almost invisible against the background of old wood.

On the same signs you need to navigate, looking at the plates under the hat. At false fade their color varies from yellow to olive-yellow. In normal mushrooms, the plates are creamy-beige or pale yellow. Another difference is the smell from false smells.

Sniff the controversial mushroom - edible will smell nice and fresh. But their "fake" analogues publish, as a rule, an unpleasant, moldy fragrance.

In short, we listed a number of signs on which it is possible with high probability to distinguish dangerous doubles. But still the main principle is a simple rule: if you are not completely sure of the breed of mushroom you have seen, never take it under any circumstances!

We hope that you now know exactly how to distinguish false honey agarics from edible edible ones! If you are careful, then there is nothing particularly complicated in this.
