Born October 30 in 1980 in the city of Jeju (Cheju province, South Korea). From adolescence, acromegaly suffers - a disease associated with impaired functions of the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland, as a result of which the brushes, feet and skull are enlarged and thickened (this pathology also suffers from boxer Nikolai Valuev, actor Kim Richard, Big Shaw's wrestler).

In 2008, Choi was drafted into the ranks of the Korean army, for a period of 26 months of service. During the medical examination, the athlete was diagnosed with a problem with the left eye, which appeared due to a brain tumor. Six months later the metastasis was removed during the surgical operation. In the same year, Hong Choi Mang got a tattoo on his left shoulder, introducing his name in English: "Choi".

Creation

"Korean monster", among other things, also a creative personality. At the end of 2007, he, together with model Kang Soo Hee, organized a duet called "Beauty and the Beast". Choi reads rap, and Kang Soo Hee performs vocals.

In 2009, he starred in the movie "Goemon" (a Japanese historical film in the genre of action movie). A year later, the athlete took part in the filming of the Japanese TV series "Kaibutsu-kun".
