Longholm Island is in the east of Södermalm. Södermalm is a large Stockholm island.

Since the island of Longholm, due to its geographical location, is remote and isolated, it served as a correctional colony from the middle of the 18th century until 1987.

In 1987, the prison was rebuilt into a youth tourist base.

The town of Stremstad - wonderful views and picturesque bay

The town of Stremstad is located on the shore of a picturesque bay. The town literally grew on gray and sea-polished rocks. It offers a wonderful view and a panorama of the sea.

Until 1658 Stremstad was a small fishing village and belonged to Norway. At the end of the 18th century, the town received a wide popularity of the resort, thanks to healing springs.

Now the city lives small enterprises of precision mechanics and electronics, tourism, catching mussels and shrimp.

In summer the city is visited by tourists from all over the world. Accurate cobbled streets of the town go down to the sea, where there are pleasure boats and yachts. On the embankment of the town there are many cafes that are filled with tourists.

The county of Halland - sandy beaches and fishing  

The county of Halland, which lies south of Gothenburg, is famous for its wide sandy beaches.

The local resorts of Halland County are Mellburystrand, Skreet, Apelwicken and Tyulosand. Here, tourists and holidaymakers windsurf, play golf, swim and sunbathe.
