Headache in forehead: causes and effects

The headache at least once in a lifetime disturbs every person. It can occur in the occipital part, in the temporal region, near the forehead and eyes.

In particular, the headache in the forehead region can have many causes: migraine, unhealthy teeth, stressful conditions or neuroses, allergies, and also can be a consequence of sinusitis, frontal sinus or sinusitis. In order to get rid of this depressing illness, it is necessary to correctly and timely determine its cause and eliminate it.

So, our task is to describe the possible causes of pain in the forehead region:

1.Psychological overstrain. Pain in the forehead caused by this, arises in the cervical region, then quickly spreads to the nape, whiskey and the eye area. Additional symptoms - nausea, vomiting, frequent dizziness, disruption of the vestibular apparatus. The source of this pain is easily detected with the help of palpation of the cervical and occipital parts. The nature of unpleasant sensations is oppressive, aching. As a rule, there is a feeling of pressure on the forehead, as if "presses on the forehead a headdress" (as almost all patients describe their condition).

Note that this reason is the most common, patients usually suffer from emotional stress and overexcitation.

2 Frontitis and sinusitis. Directly with genyantritis can also disturb the pain in the sinuses of the nose, difficulty breathing and the appearance of discharge from the nose. Headache in the forehead in this situation occurs, as a rule, at the same time, and there is an increase in body temperature. When the inflammation occurs in the frontal sinus area, the pain in the forehead region is very strong and is more difficult to tolerate than with inflammation of the rest of the nasal regions. Therefore, contact with a doctor should not be postponed.

The headache, which appears due to the frontitis, is usually repeated in the morning, the eyes react painfully to light. It becomes easier only when the nose is cleaned. In this case, the temperature of the patient's body does not increase, there is no discharge from the nasal sinuses. Note that vasoconstrictive drops for the treatment of the frontitis should be purchased only on the advice of a doctor.

3. Increased intracranial pressure. Headache in the forehead area can alternate with pain in the occipital and temporal region, as well as with shingles. This can be the result of the transferred stress or nervous overexertion.

4. Inflammation of the frontal and latticular sinuses, neuralgia or neuritis of the trigeminal nerve. In this case, the head in the region of the forehead hurts sharply and paroxysmally, but the body temperature does not increase and there is no discharge from the nose. Sometimes pain can occur when pressing on the eyebrow area, as well as lacrimation and reddening of the forehead.

5. Infection of various nature. Headache in such a situation is dull and aching, accompanied by an increase in temperature. Usually, the cause of this condition is an intoxication of the body: a headache in the forehead area can result from typhus, acute meningitis, malaria, influenza (additional pain in the area of the brow, as well as intolerance to bright light and pain in the eyes) or fever.

6. Migraine. In this case, pain occurs in the forehead and temple, and gives to the temporal region and the eye area. Migraine occurs periodically and paroxysmally. Sometimes as a complication there is nausea and vomiting. Many doctors characterize this disease as hereditary.

Note that only an experienced specialist can properly diagnose a headache. Do not self-medicate, especially if your condition is not caused by fatigue or overwork. The reasons can be much more serious. Therefore, never hesitate to visit a doctor! Your health depends entirely on timely treatment.
