When is it best to visit the Grodno Zoo?

According to numerous reviews of visitors, it is best to go for a walk on the zoological park of Grodno as soon as it opens. There are at least two reasons for this. Firstly, at 10 o'clock in the morning there are fewer people who will save the need to stand in a long queue and give some quiet and cozy hours in seclusion with wildlife. Secondly, animals at this time are most active, and they can be well considered.

Walking in the park at lunch hours, you can stumble upon the process of feeding, and the sight of the bloody dinner of predators can pretty spoil the impression. If the summer is in the yard, then the animals tend to hide in secluded places from the midday heat, so that they can not be seen until evening. As for several hours before the closure, they are not the best time to visit the zoo due to the fact that some of its inhabitants, especially birds, have a habit of settling early for the night.

In order to make a trip to the zoo in Grodno, autumn, spring and cool days of summer are better. Having visited it in the autumn, you will see animals in the most magnificent kind, well-fed and with magnificent hair. In the spring, some residents of the zoo may appear ill and not well-groomed. On hot days, animals hide from the sun, and in frosty weather - from the cold.

What predators can be contemplated

Both children and adults will be interesting and unusual to observe at a distance of several meters, how large and small predators that the Grodno zoo is rich in are. Animals there have enough free cages, so they feel comfortable. The eyes of visitors are noble tigers, clumsy bears, mysterious wolves, graceful lions, leopards and cougars, gloomy hyenas and other predatory fauna.

In the enclosures of the zoo there are also smaller individuals of the order of predators. You can meet a fox, ferret, raccoon, fox, mongoose, otter, forest cat and so on. You can also find in the zoo and herbivorous representatives of fauna.

Herbivores of the zoo

The Grodno Zoo is ready to surprise its visitors with an unusual-looking pet, with thick, dendritic branchy horns, called the Alpine Maral, or an equally interesting looking beetle. In the zoo there also lives a maned ram, guanaco, two-humped and one-horned camels, awesome yak, deer, moufflon, bison (listed in the red book of the Republic of Belarus), lama, deer of David, ponies and other animals.

If almost none of the visitors tries to feed the predators, then the herbivores all try to treat them with all sorts of goodies. However, the feeding of animals in the zoo is strictly prohibited. Having visited the "Babushkin Yard" playground for an additional fee, one can get a lot of pleasure from close contact with contact animals, for example, monkeys. Here you can make lovely photos for memory.

Birds, as well as reptiles and amphibians

The largest class group of animals in the zoo are birds. Sukhonos, griffon vulture, golden, gray and ordinary pheasants, curly pelican, ordinary peacock, mottled rosella, pink flamingo, gray heron, blue-yellow macaw, starling, bullfinch, steppe eagle and other birds enjoy the visitors cordially.

Visiting the zoo in Grodno, you should also look into its terrarium, where you can contemplate various kinds of snakes, frogs, bearded agama, crocodile caiman, ordinary iguana and other representatives of this group. For a fee, you can get to feed the reptiles.
