GAZ 3310 "Valdai" is a low-bed truck of domestic production. This model belongs to the medium-tonnage class of commercial vehicles. The novelty is produced at the Gorky Automobile Plant from the autumn of 2004. At the moment, the mass production of Valdai has not been stopped. It was this car was the first medium-tonnage truck, which was developed at the plant with the help of computer technology. Today it is actively used as a city carrier. As the basis of the truck was used a massive frame from the GAZ 3307. The cabin had many similarities with the GAZ 3302 "Gazelle". As a result, something happened between the "Gazelle" and "Lawn". The machine combines all the positive qualities of both models. Thanks to this design, the novelty is capable of transferring loads of up to 3,500 kilograms. But this is not the ultimate feature of GAZ Valdai: the reviews say that it is capable of pulling 4-ton loads without problems. Due to the low position of the frame, engineers have achieved the optimum loading height (100 centimeters). When developing new items, great attention was paid to the comfort of travel. The cabin contributes to the maximum comfort of the driver under all operating conditions. And thanks to the increased ground clearance "Valdai" it is easy to transport cargoes on a cross-country terrain. By the way, it was the first medium-tonnage truck on which disc brakes were installed on both axles (similar to the domestic cars had a disk-drum brake system).

Reviews about the technical capabilities of the engine make you pay great attention to this machine. Initially, the Gorky plant was tasked with creating a more economical motor, rather than the "GAZON", at the same time, reliable and cautious. The ideal solution was a Belarusian engine of the brand MMZ-245.7 with a capacity of 119 horsepower. This unit is able to reach speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour. To it the imported fuel equipment of mark CRS Bosch is completed. Battery 12-volt, like the "Gazelle" (although for cars of this class is better suited 24-volt batteries). But despite the 12-volt power system, drivers do not complain about any problems when starting the engine in the winter. GAZ "Valdai" reviews characterize as a reliable and economical truck.

Small update

At the end of 2010 Valdai was equipped with a three-liter American engine Cummins (Cummins ISF 3.8). Its technical characteristics exceeded the parameters of the Belarusian MMZ several times. Buyers can choose from three options for engines with a power of 143 to 170 horsepower. At the same time, the torque of the "American" is from 450 to 600 Nm (depending on the power). With such an aggregate of power problems, the new GAZ Valdai will not exactly arise. Repair of the engine "Cummins" in the next 3-4 years of operation is not exactly needed (unless periodic oil change and cleaning of injectors).
