Futurist is a revolutionary in art

Futurism (Latin futurum - the future) is the generally accepted name for the artistic avant-garde movements of the early 20th century, primarily in Russia and Italy. The author of the word and the founder of the trend is the world-famous Italian poet Marinetti. Distinguished by an extremely extremist orientation, Futurism, denying all previous artistic experience, claimed to build a completely new art. Futurist is a follower and futurist.

Radical changes

The basic postulates of the futurists were radical changes in the principle of constructing a literary text, the destruction of the syntax adopted, for example, the use of the verb exclusively in an indefinite inclination, the destruction of adverbs, qualitative adjectives, omission of unions, punctuation marks. In other words, the futurist is the creator who introduces into literature "a maximum of disorder" and "perception by analogy". Their goal was to create a new living literary style without tiring pauses, underlined by commas and ellipsis.

From words to visual signs

Futurist verses were completely freed from the rigid limitations of syntactic periods and logical connections. Rejecting the norms of linear writing, the futurist poets freely arranged their lines in space, forming decorative arabesques or following analogies-form-letter turned into bizarre visual signs. Also, a new genre brought a provocative component into the art life - a fist blow. Now the adherents of futurism could easily be distinguished from other authors. Poet-futurist - this is the creator who, speaking to the public, in every way it evokes: provokes, insults, calls for sedition and violence. The new direction acquired scandalous, but wide popularity.

Futurists of Russia

Given the political situation in Russia at the beginning of the twentieth century, the grain of Futurism fell on a fertile soil, and the new trend was enthusiastically received in the pre-revolutionary years by Russian cubo-futurists. Russian avant-gardists entered the history of Russian culture as innovators, who managed to make a revolution in poetry, literature and other areas of creativity. In Russia, Futurism did not become an integral artistic system, this term was used to describe various trends in the development of the avant-garde. Wishing to define futurism as a commonality of style, it was extremely difficult to combine Khlebnikov's "songwriter-archaic", Mayakovsky's "tribune-urbanist", Burliuk's "aesthetic agitators", Kruchenykh's "abstruse-roaring". And if you still take into account the "special on aeronautics on the fokker of syntax" Boris Pasternak, then it is simply impossible to comb all of them with the same comb. Several separated from the direction were considered Shershenevich and Severyanin, but all the futurists in literature got on under the general roof of the genre, holding on to each other tenaciously.

Poetry and Painting

The poetry of Russian futurism was inherently associated with avant-gardism in art painting. Very many poets, followers of the genre, were considered good artists - V. Mayakovsky, V. Khlebnikov, brothers Burliuk, V. Kamensky, A. Kruchenykh, Elena Guro. And most avant-garde artists wrote prose and poetry, participated in the release of futuristic editions not only as decorators, but also as writers. The Futurist poems were an inspiration for painting, which, in turn, enriched Futurism. K. Malevich, P. Filonov, N. Goncharova, M. Larionov almost succeeded in creating what the futurists so eagerly sought to create.

"Futurist" and "hooligan" are synonyms?

Sufficiently in a short time for a moderate public, the term "futurist" began to be considered a synonym for the word "hooligan". The media closely followed the "exploits" and the whims of the creators of the new trend in art. This caused an increased interest of the townsfolk and brought widespread fame to the adherents of Futurism. For most of the population, the futurist is one who conformed to the main features of the new direction, among which the pathos of shocking, anarchic worldview, experimentation in rhythm, rebelliousness, orientation to the spoken verse.
