Famous Scientists

The list of full cavaliers of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland includes eight representatives of science representing different branches of knowledge. All of them are now alive, despite their venerable age, with the exception of OE Kutafin (2008). Oleg Yemelyanovich is a lawyer who took part in the creation of the Russian Constitution, one of the co-authors of the textbook on constitutional law. The most age-related (86 years) are Alferov Zh.I. and Lavrov N.P. Zhores Ivanovich Alferov - the pride of the nation, the only Nobel laureate in physics (2000), who lives in Russia. Nikolai Pavlovich Laverov, president of the International Academy of Fuel and Energy, a world-known geologist, who heads the chair at MGIMO. Ten well-known politicians are full cavaliers of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, including two generals of the FSB.
