First aid in stopping breathing. First Aid Instruction

Unforeseen circumstances can often take a person by surprise. And in order not to get lost, one must always be in a state of so-called "combat readiness". The first help in stopping breathing - what it is, when and how to properly render it and what not to forget - everyone should know about this.

Main reasons

What can cause this state? What are they, reasons for stopping breathing? So, physicians say that they arise more often in the following cases:

  • In case of electric shock.
  • In case of drowning.
  • With a strong impact.
  • During acute poisoning of the body.

In this case, it is important to remember that the irreversible effects in the body after stopping breathing come in five to six minutes. So even before the arrival of the car rescuers or an ambulance patient must provide first effective assistance. After all, such simple manipulations can save a person's life.

Indicators

The respiratory and cardiac arrest are characterized by the following symptoms, by which the presence of this problem can be determined:

  • Dilation of pupils.
  • Lack of pulse. It must be remembered that you can "listen" not only to the drowsy but also the femoral arteries.
  • Lack of breath. You can check it by bending your ear to the nasopharynx of the patient. Or you can just attach a mirror to your nose. If it does not fog up - a person does not breathe.
  • Skin condition. They become waxy-pale or acquire a cyanotic shade.

Rescuer actions

There is a special instruction for first aid. It is very important to comply with, because only this way you can provide real effective help. The order of its execution should be as follows:

  1. The person needs to be taken out on the street. Or to ensure the supply of clean fresh air through windows, doors.
  2. The victim should be put on his back, tuck under the neck roller. This is important, because the head of the patient should be slightly thrown back.
  3. The first help in stopping breathing is releasing the respiratory tract from excess fluid (vomit, water, mucus). In this case, you can use gauze napkins.
  4. Then the victim should put gauze on the victim's mouth. This is the preparatory stage for artificial respiration. Previously, the lower jaw of a person should be slightly pushed forward.
  5. Immediately artificial respiration.
  6. It is important to accurately note the time to stop breathing, as well as the beginning of revitalization.

However, first aid in stopping breathing is a call to the ambulance service. After all, only specialists can do everything necessary to bring a person back to life.

Methods of artificial respiration

It is also worth noting that there are the following methods of ventilating the lungs (i.e., artificial respiration):

  1. This is artificial mouth-to-mouth breathing. It is used most often.
  2. Sometimes artificial respiration is used, which is called the mouth in the nose.
  3. Use of auxiliary means: rubber bags with a mask, respirators. However, such equipment in difficult situations at hand is extremely rare.

Methods of performing artificial respiration

How to properly perform and what to do if you have to do artificial respiration "mouth to mouth"? So, for this there is a simple list of actions, on the correctness of which the result of the work done depends.

  • Initially, you need to spread the jaw. You can do this with your hand or with your wand. It is also important to pull out the tongue from the larynx. He will have to keep his fingers on the outside. This is a special precaution, because if you do not do this, a person can block his own airways with his tongue. And all further manipulations will simply be ineffective.
  • If there is a risk that the victim may be injured in the spine, his head should be in the primary position. Otherwise, the person by the neck should be lifted so that the head a little left back and turned sideways. This is necessary in order that the remnants of water or vomit masses come out, and not get into the body.
  • It must be remembered that the victim's mouth is best covered with a handkerchief. After all, with artificial respiration, direct contact with the mucous membrane of a person occurs. And this is unhygienic.
  • Next, the rescuer is on the side of the victim, kneels down. Closes his nose with his fingers. In the lungs, the one who provides help, picks up a lot of air and sharply exhales it into the mouth of the person being rescued. Due to the elasticity of the chest, its movements will be seen.
  • The duration of the inspiration takes a couple of seconds. The number of breaths per minute is approximately 12-15 times. It is important to ensure that the chest rises. Otherwise, all actions will be ineffective.
  • It must be remembered that after each inhalation the victim should open his nose. Artificial air must be released.
  • If there is first aid in stopping breathing, remember that after the inhalation, you need to massage your heart. This is important, because these two states (stopping breathing and working the heart) are often inseparable. To do this, on the chest with an average force should be pressed five times in a row.
  • Also it must be remembered that it is necessary to release the stomach of the victim from the air. For this, it is necessary to press gently on it periodically.
  • If artificial respiration is carried out by the "mouth to nose" method, one should inhale air in the nose of the victim. At the same time his mouth should be tightly closed. All other actions are the same as described above.

If the child is injured

Instructions for first aid for children are somewhat different. In this case, when breathing in the air, both the lips and the victim's nose must simultaneously wrap around. Heart massage is also somewhat different. In order not to break the bones of the baby's chest, he needs to press two fingers against the area of the connection of the lower ribs. It is also important to ensure that the child's pulse is at least a bit rhythmic. It is good, if it will be 10-12 beats in 10 seconds.

If the victim after the spent manipulations, breathing still restored, this is not a reason to relax. In this case, before the ambulance arrives, it is necessary to monitor the person's pulse. It should be checked every two minutes. If a failure occurs, artificial respiration and cardiac massage should be repeated again.

You can make this movement as long as you need it. It must be remembered that such simple actions can save the life of the victim.
