Find an apostrophe on the keyboard

This article describes how to find an apostrophe on the keyboard in various layouts: Russian, English or Ukrainian. The easiest way is to do this in the last two: a separate key is provided for these purposes. That is, you can enter this symbol without changing the keyboard layout. But in Russian, too, there is a simple and affordable solution. You can use the ASCII code to enter it. All these options will be described in the framework of the proposed article.

English keyboard

Apostrophe on the keyboard With this layout is on one key with the Russian letter "e". It is not so rare in the English language, and such a decision is more than justified. You do not need to remember the combination of symbols and use it as necessary. It is enough only when the layout is active (in the lower right corner of the screen the taskbar should have a combination of "En"), just press the Russian "e", which is located in the central row next to "Enter", and then appears in the open document "'" .

Ukrainian version

A similar situation is in the Ukrainian language. It can be found even in the word "computer" itself. In this case, it is on one key with the Russian letter "e" or English tyndoy (symbol ~). This is the answer to where the apostrophe is on the Ukrainian keyboard. But its use is only provided in the latest versions of the Windows operating system starting with Vista. But in earlier times you had to use the combination "Ctrl" and simultaneously with it you need to press the Russian "e" twice. It works on the latest versions of OS, but it's more convenient to use a separate key.

Universal way

In Russian, an apostrophe is extremely rare. These are usually words of foreign origin. For example, the legendary hero of the French writer Dumas - D'Artagnan. In this case, you can offer three options for solving this problem. In the Russian layout there is no apostrophe on the keyboard. Therefore, you can switch to English or Ukrainian for a short time to enter one "'", and then go back. But this is not entirely convenient. It's easier to use ASCII code. To do this, immediately hold down "Alt" and then enter the numeric code. In this case, this is 039. We successively dial 039 and get an apostrophe. Another way will be described a little further.

And what about WORD?

In this case, you can use the text editor menu. We go to the "Insert" tab and find the "Symbol" field on it. Do one-click with the left mouse button on it. In the opened window, by moving (using the navigation keys with arrows) by the set of characters, we find "'" and insert it by pressing "Enter". After that, close the window and you're done. This is the last way of how to type an apostrophe on the keyboard. Not very convenient, but if you need to enter "'" once, then you can use it.

Results

Within the framework of this material, various ways of how to find an apostrophe on the keyboard have been described. It is most simple to do it in English or Ukrainian. But this can also be done in Russian. It is enough just to use the ASCII code input. In each individual case it is better to use the key assigned to this language or a combination thereof. This allows you to significantly increase performance. Therefore, it is better to know each option and use them as needed.
