During the years of Soviet power, Russian journalists created mostly ideological media, expressing the views of the ruling political force.

In recent decades, there has been a real information boom, reflected in our sphere. This is the age of new types of publications, Internet journalism. A powerful legislative framework was established to regulate activities in this area.

Education and development of the Union of Journalists of Russia

Creative associations are usually organized for the purpose of protection, mutual assistance and support. The Union of Journalists of Russia was no exception. This structure, founded on November 13, 1918, is an independent professional public organization uniting more than 100,000 media workers.

The Union of Journalists of Russia was founded during the first congress of Soviet workers of the press, honorary chairmen of which were elected Lenin and Trotsky. The organizer of the event was the publicist M. A. Osorgin. One of the first members of the union of Russian journalists were S. Yesenin, N. Krupskaya, A. Lunacharsky.
