Famous and unknown recipients of Lermontov's love lyrics

It so happened that the works of Mikhail Yurievich Lermontov are often studied in comparison with Pushkin. These poets have many poems not only on the same theme, but even with the same names: "Prisoner", "Motherland". Although for all the seeming similarity, there is a very big difference between Pushkin and Lermontov.

Pushkin formed as a poet on the wave of the rise of the Decembrists movement, and Lermontov's creations existed in the era of persecution. In addition, Mikhail Yurievich was alone in his life. After all, until now, all the recipients of Lermontov's love lyrics are unknown, although the theme of love is the main thing in his work. Pushkin was fond of, loved, married, he had children.

Lermontov did not have time to do anything about it. His mother died early, tyrannical in nature grandmother Elizaveta Arsenyev forbade little Misha to see his father. Events in the family left a seal on the life of the poet as a whole. Then service in the army, which also limits the personality, does not allow the development of a flight of fantasy.

Motives of sadness can be seen everywhere: in works about the homeland, heroes and exploits. All the characters are lonely. All the hobbies of Mikhail Yurievich, sometimes very strong and passionate, did not end with anything. Lermontov's love poems have a motive of disappointment, mistrust and misunderstanding of the society: "I'm leaving alone for the road," "The lonely sail is white," "To love, but to whom", "I'm not looking sadly our generation."

The well-known addressees of Lermontov's love lyrics are Sofya Saburova, Katerina Sushkova, Varvara Lopukhina, Natalia Ivanova and Maria Shcherbatova. It is interesting that at one and the same time the poet could write a poem dedicated to one woman, and then create a fervent declaration of love for another. "I do not humiliate myself before you" tells about the period of the break with Natalia Ivanova and was written in 1832, at the same time the line "She does not attract the youth of the living with a proud beauty", addressed to Varvara Lopukhina.

According to some scholars studying the poet's work, it was these women who had the main influence on him. According to others, the addressees of Lermontov's love lyrics have not yet been determined accurately. Despite a large number of studies, there is no specific data on this issue, all the arguments are presumptive.

"Why is it so painful and so difficult? Waiting for what? I regret about what? "- in these lines the whole essence of the poet is exposed. On the one hand, he waits, but on the other, no. He regrets and immediately remains indifferent. The poet was the same in love. He was lonely, hot-tempered and did not always behave nobly. First Lermontov passionately loves Katerina Sushkov, and then goes to all to spoil this girl's life. He writes an anonymous letter, which frustrates the betrothal, and considers himself a hero.

According to the reminiscences of contemporaries that have survived, it is impossible to lay down an integral picture of the poet's inner world. Lermontov either met with this person, or not. All his love interests ended in failure. At the time of the tragic death in a duel, the poet was not married. All the recipients of Lermontov's love lyrics are still unknown for certain, and, most likely, they will remain in secret.

And among all poets of the 19th century, Lermontov has the most "unfinished" fate. Such inner mental disorder goes through all of his lyrics and life-affirming, like Pushkin's, there are practically no poems by Lermontov. If Alexander Sergeevich's poem "In the depths of Siberian ore" ends in a call to action and belief in a brighter future, then you will not find such a ending in any of the works Lermontov wrote.

The poet's love poetry is also full of sadness and sadness. If we talk about his life in our usual human understanding - this is the life of a failed person. Although many researchers believe that if Lermontov lived as much as Pushkin, then he would have surpassed the latter in his work. But fate decreed otherwise. The poet lived only his youth and did not reach a period of maturity.
