Faina Ranevskaya: winged phrases and golden quotations

Faina Ranevskaya was born in 1896 in the family of a wealthy Jew, Girsh Feldman, the owner of a factory, a steamer, several houses and shops. The girl from the childhood slightly stammered, therefore it was constantly touched by contemporaries. Because of this, she decided to leave the gymnasium and was educated at home.

She was very fond of Russian classics, especially Chekhov. By the way, her stage name - "Ranevskaya" she borrowed from the great classic. If you remember, that was the name of Chekhov's heroine from the play "The Cherry Orchard". As for the choice of profession, then, as Faina Girshievna claimed, she did not choose it, because she "lurked" in it. She possessed an acuity of mind and language, subtle humor, free views of life. This was the great Faina Ranevskaya for contemporaries.

The winged phrases, which we often repeat today, contain a deep meaning. They are so labeled, fair and consistent with today's reality, that sometimes you are simply surprised that their author is a woman born in the 19th century.
