Ethics of business communication in the modern world

To master the modern market, the entrepreneur, in addition to undoubted skill and understanding of business, must know the basics of business etiquette. A true professional should be aware of what ethics and etiquette of business communication, and be able to distinguish them. To be just polite and pleasant in communication is not enough, the ethics of business communication consists of several rules that need to be followed strictly.

  1. Be punctual. Take for yourself the rule of never being late for work, always coming on time to important meetings. To do any work, always leave time with a margin, as there necessarily will be things to do earlier. Or someone will urgently need your help, and you simply will not have time to work. Remember that a person who is always late is not credible and confident.
  2. Observe confidentiality. All information about your work, firm, transaction conditions should be kept secret. The less you talk about your work at work or retell conversations with colleagues about their personal lives, the more you cause trust and respect.
  3. Do not think only of yourself. A person who walks on the head, can achieve a lot in life and career, if one does not stumble. And the support of the team is always useful.
  4. Watch out for the appearance. This rule does not mean that you should only dress with expensive designers. Your clothes should always be tidy, matched with taste and match your surroundings.
  5. Be literate. To achieve success in business, a person must necessarily be able to convince and speak with a beautiful right language, without using jargon and swear words. All business letters and documentation should be literate, clear and not contain spelling, punctuation and stylistic errors.

Ethics of business communication provides for several forms of communication. Basic forms: dialog and group. Most often, for the solution of production and organizational issues, group communication is used, in particular, meetings and meetings. By appointment, they are divided into informative, meetings to make decisions, creative. Meetings are also classified by subject, scope and so on. Based on the ethical-organizational approach, the meetings are divided into dictatorial, segregative, autocratic, free and controversial.

Let us dwell on the concept of ethics of business negotiations. Business negotiations are always official, they must be prepared in advance, because very often they result in the signing of important contracts and contracts. This ethic of business communication consists of several stages: the identification of the main problem, the search for partners for the solution, the delimitation of one's own and others' interests, the development of a negotiation plan, the resolution of organizational questions and the preparation of documents. And the ethics of business communication at all stages also has its principles: rationality, understanding, communication, reliability, acceptance, the ability to ask questions and listen to the interlocutor, tact, correctness, concreteness. You need to come to the meeting a little earlier than the appointed time and well prepared. All questions should be given the most clear and understandable answers, ask clarifying questions on the merits. Even if the outcome of business negotiations has remained unfavorable for you, this is not a reason, when leaving, to slam the door. The final part of the talks should also be held in the most polite way.
