Compared to the previous generation, medicines belonging to this group do not affect the mental or physical activity of a person. They are also not addictive, it makes it possible to apply them for a long time (even up to 1 year). Such substances do not have a sedative or cholinolytic effect.

Increased and the duration of these compositions, which allows you to take them only once a day. Even after stopping the intake of such a medicine for allergies can have about a week of its therapeutic effect.

To this class of antihistamines are: Claridol, Lomilan, Rupafin, Zirtek, Clarotadine, Kestin, Claritin, Loragexal, Clarisens.

3 generation

These drugs are the newest and most effective means in the fight against allergies. They have the properties of prodrugs, and, penetrating into the tissues of the body, they turn into active pharmacological metabolites. These substances do not have a sedative and cardiotoxic effect. They have a long term of action, reaching 2 days. Even with prolonged use, any medicine for allergy of the 3rd generation is not addictive. The intake of these antihistamines does not depend on the schedule of meals.

Such drugs are highly selective, they are not characterized by negative manifestations of the central nervous system, because they do not overcome the blood-brain barrier.
