Dubrovin Evgeny: biography and creativity

One of the undeservedly forgotten Soviet writers is Evgeny Panteleevich Dubrovin. Today, interest in his work is being revived. Which Dubrovin books are the most popular? What is known about the writer's life and career?

In one of the settlements of the Voronezh region, in the ordinary working family, on August 20, 1936, the future writer Dubrovin Eugene appeared. Biography of the creator of one of the most penetrating works of Russian literature "Waiting for a goat" is little known to the reader. On the cover of a book that was recently reissued, just a few mean words about the author.

Dubrovin Evgeniy graduated from the Agricultural Institute. He began his career at one of Voronezh's factories. He wrote essays and notes for local newspapers. Then he began to write small works of art. In the early seventies Dubrovin Eugene went to Moscow, where he worked for several years in the famous comic magazine "Crocodile". The writer passed away in 1986.

What else is known about the writer named Dubrovin Eugene? The photo is presented in the article. This is one of the few remaining images. Colleagues from the editorial office of "Crocodile" claimed that this man possessed an extraordinary sense of humor, but very rarely smiled. The memories of the writer's friends speak of him much more than short biographical references.

"Waiting for the goat"

In the autobiographical book Ruslan Kireev devoted several pages to the writer. Who was Dubrovin Eugene? First of all, one of those who was born in the most difficult time for the country. Memories of early years formed the basis of some works.

One day, Eugene's parents went to the city to buy a goat, leaving him and his little brother and brother at home. About how the boys lived without them, many years later Dubrovin wrote in a funny and tragic story "Waiting for a goat". This work was published in 1968 in Voronezh. Moscow literati it became known later, when its author took the post of editor-in-chief of the famous magazine.

"Crocodile"

The work of Dubrovin in the editorial office is also known due to the memoirs of contemporaries. Manuil Semenov, who headed the satirical magazine, once heard of the young and promising Voronezh writer. Whence he learned about Dubrovin, it is not known. But, according to the colleagues of the writer, Semenov decided to invite the beginning author to take up the position of editor. The chief of the All-Union Journal, staying by that time at a very old age, did not call a little-known writer to Moscow. He himself went to Voronezh.

The short prose writer

Dubrovin's surprising quality was dislike for unnecessary conversations. In one of the works the writer and colleague of the hero of this article created the image of the chief who spent most of his time eating pears and pronounced no more than two words per day. The prototype of this character was Eugene Dubrovin. Despite the fact that the image was cartooned in the book, the writer did not take offense. On the contrary, he asked the author of the book to edit his own compositions. Books by Dubrovin:

Oblivion

Nevertheless, in the nineties and early 2000s Dubrovin's work was in complete oblivion. But, as already mentioned, interest in his books is reviving. And, probably, soon on the shelves of bookstores there will finally appear publications with the works of a remarkable Soviet writer.
