Dried figs: benefit and energy value

Many do not know, but the useful properties of figs have been known since ancient times. Avicenna advised using this fruit as a medicine against malaria and measles, as well as in the treatment of tumors and skin diseases. As the scientist thought, figs can act in the role of any antidote.

It is worth mentioning separately the caloric content of figs, in view of the fact that it contains a lot of sugar, as already mentioned. It should be noted that the dried caloric content of figs can vary, which is affected by many factors. So, it directly depends on the variety of fruits and on the degree of maturity. Also the degree of caloric content depends on the climatic conditions in which the fruit grew, and how it was stored. You need to know that the fig in the form of dried fruit contains a large concentration of sugars and carbohydrates, because during drying it loses water and leaves only the most useful substances in itself.

So how many calories are in dried figs? Let's notice that in any dried fruit at drying the percentage quantity of all elements increases. For example, if in fresh fruit there was no fat at all, then in its dried analogue there is about 1%. Thus, the energy value of the product also increases . So, if a fresh fig has a caloric content of about 65-66 kcal, the dried figs become much caloric. This is due to the fact that the fresh figs of sugars contain about 25%. In the dried fruit they are about 37%, and even more than 40%. Calculations are conducted in relation to 100 grams of the product. As a result, the average caloric content of the fig becomes approximately 240 kcal per 100 g.

And in order to get the maximum benefit from dried figs, it is better to take 3-4 fruits, pour overnight with water at room temperature, then eat them on an empty stomach in the morning, washed down with the same water. This combination replaces any laxative drug.

As a means for disinfection, the use of figs is welcome in cases of angina, severe chest cough, and pneumonia. But after the operation to restore vitality, they recommend using figs as a dietary product. Therefore, as we see, the useful properties of this fruit are very diverse and applicable to almost any disease.
