Dmitry Mamin was born on November 6, 1852. His father Narkis was a priest. Mama paid much attention to Dima's upbringing. When he grew up, his parents sent him to a school where the children of the workers of the Vishimo-Shaitan factory were trained.

Dad really wanted his son to follow in his footsteps. At first everything was as planned by Narkys. He entered the seminary in Perm and studied there for a whole year as a listener. However, the boy realized that he did not want to devote his life to the priest, and therefore decided to quit the seminary. His father was extremely unhappy with his son's behavior and did not share his decision. The heated atmosphere in the family forced Dmitri to leave home. He decided to go to St. Petersburg.

Trip to St. Petersburg

Here he wanders through medical institutions. During the year he is trained for a veterinarian, after which he moves to the medical department. Then he goes to St. Petersburg University for the Faculty of Natural Sciences, after which he begins to practice law.

As a result of six years of "walking" in various faculties, he never received a single diploma. During this period of time, he realizes that he wants to become a writer with all his heart.

From under his pen is born the first work, which is called "Secrets of the Dark Forest". Already in this work you can see his creative potential and outstanding talent. But not all his works immediately became masterpieces. His novel "In the Swirl of Passions", which was published in a small-circulation magazine under the pseudonym E. Tomsky, was criticized in "down and ashes."

Homecoming

At the age of 25, he returns to his homeland and writes new works under the pseudonym Sibiryak, so as not to be associated with the loser E. Tomsky.

In 1890, followed by his divorce with his first wife. He marries the actress M. Abramova. Together with his new wife Dmitry Narkisovich Mamin-Sibiryak moved to St. Petersburg. Their happy marriage did not last long. The woman died immediately after the birth of her daughter. The girl was called Alyonushka.
