Divination by baptism - echoes of the past

The question of divination by its nature has a centuries-old history, in principle, comparable to the development of the man himself reasonable. Speaking about the near past of our people, it is worth noting the fact that all major religions, primarily Christianity, did not encourage such actions, rightly considering them a legacy of paganism. But fortune telling, in general, and fortune-telling for baptism, in particular, did not fade in the people, moreover, after the fall of the communist regime, a new heyday took shape.

However, it should be clearly understood that more than half a century of pressure of atheistic beliefs to a large extent distorted the understanding of the very principle of this sacrament, its meaning and purpose. Naturally, in today's ultra-urbanized society with an Internet network, cell phones and other tricky things to perceive, for example, fortune telling as deeply as our ancestors did was unlikely to happen, rather, these old rituals are understood by modern youth as a joke or fun pastime.

On the other hand, no matter how hard they try to simplify the perception of the results of the rite, but divination by baptism, including, leaves an indelible impression in the soul of a person, especially a young virgin, as the human psychology is designed in such a way to remember, to appreciate any moments of the supernatural.

It is clear that the baptismal fortune-telling was represented in different regions by its own peculiarities, there existed and still exists a variety of them. However, perhaps with minor interpretations, some methods of divination were spread throughout the country. The most common among them were such as divination by the mirror, fortune telling, throwing a shoe by the gate or by the door, by the shadows cast by the flame of a candle, by dreams that were dreamed on Epiphany night.

Divination by baptism with the help of mirrors had the two most common options. In the first case. In this interpretation, two mirrors are installed with faces facing each other, and a candle is installed between them. The girl, being on the side, tried in a flame to examine and learn the silhouette of her narrowed. In this version, the girl had to be alone in the room. With rare exceptions, divination by baptism of this kind allowed the presence in the room of other persons, relatives, girlfriends, and then, only with strict non-interference in the process.

The second variant of guessing was to a certain extent simpler, for this reason it was used more often. Before the mirror was placed a candle and a cutlery. The girl urged her chosen one to come to dinner, peering into the mirror, tried to examine it. It is clear that all fortune-telling fortunes are based on the subjective impressions of a particular person, a young girl. Naturally, in a dim silhouette she will see exactly whom she would like to see. And, given the fact that love is very often mutual, then divination periodically, as they say, come true.

Divination by dreams is very common in Epiphany night . Indeed, from time immemorial there is an opinion that it is on this night that people necessarily have prophetic dreams, which to some extent must predict the fate of man. Naturally, a man himself rarely could. For this reason, for explanations, interpretations of these prophetic dreams it was customary to apply to the so-called grandmothers-leaders.

Whatever it was, whether or not to believe in the predictions of Baptism, whether to trust different interpreters of dreams is a matter of purely individual and individual nature. One thing is worth remembering, whatever the forecast, only we are the leaders of our destinies.
