Distress of the scalp. What to do?

Itching of the scalp is an unpleasant phenomenon, but, unfortunately, very common. And getting rid of it is not so easy. The point is that in order to eliminate the itching, it is necessary to correctly establish the cause that caused it. It is very difficult to do this on your own, so it is better to contact the specialist with this question.

A fairly common cause, which causes itching of the scalp, is improper care. If your problem is caused precisely by this reason, then you need to correctly choose the cosmetic products that will suit your type of hair and skin. This can help a trichologist.

Sometimes itching of the scalp can be caused by an allergic reaction to cosmetics, in which case antihistamines can help. But, of course, it will be necessary to stop using the allergy-inducing agent.

If you use hair dyes or products for long-term styling, then never disregard the instructions for conducting an allergy test. In the instructions to the preparation it will be necessary to write in detail how to make such a test. And even if you always use a certain brand, do not spare the time for the test. This will protect you not only from the occurrence of itching, but also from more serious consequences, for example, from an allergic shock.

If you are worried about severe itching of the scalp, do not forget to check for pediculosis. Of course, today this disease is not very common, but it is very contagious. Enough short-term contact with the carrier (for example, in public transport) to acquire this unpleasant disease.

Causes pediculosis parasitic insects - head lice. They make holes in the skin of the head through which they feed on blood, and so that the blood does not curl, they inject a poison beneath the skin, the effect of which causes itching. Fortunately, curing pediculosis today is not a problem. In any pharmacy you will be offered therapeutic shampoos or sprays, with which you can quickly solve the problem. It should be remembered that if someone from the family gets a pediculosis, all other households are at risk, so they are also prescribed preventive treatment.

Itching on the head can be a consequence of a disease such as psoriasis. To treat this condition in the pharmacies are sold special shampoos, for example, tar. Of course, such remedies do not smell of Parma violets, but their regular use can help get rid of itching. If the use of special shampoos does not help, then you should contact this dermatologist with this problem.

Another common cause, due to which the scalp itch, can become dandruff. The appearance of peeling and peeling of skin flakes can be triggered by the use of poor-quality or unsuitable cosmetics, and a disease such as seborrhea.

You can treat dandruff and folk remedies, but a more effective solution will be an appeal to the trichologist. The cause of seborrhea can be a hormonal failure or disruption of the gastrointestinal tract, so without eliminating the main reason it will be impossible to cope with the disease.

In addition, often the cause of dandruff is a skin lesion of fungi or banal stress. Thus, only an expert will be able to correctly determine the cause of the disorder and choose the most effective treatment regimen.

If you prefer folk methods of treatment, then to eliminate the itch of the scalp, prepare this composition: stir in a glass of hot water a teaspoon of tea tree oil and olive oil. After the liquid has cooled slightly, rub it into the skin, and after two hours of soaking, rinse with shampoo.

Not bad helps and mask for scalp, cooked on the basis of apples. To make it, you need to grind a large apple in puree, mix it with yolk and a spoon of oil (you can take burdock, olive or castor). The composition is applied to the skin along the partitions, then the head needs to be tied with a polyethylene kerchief, and on top wrap the "turban" of a terry towel. Hold this mask for an hour, then wash off with a shampoo suitable for your hair.
