early years

The future director Bulat Yusupov was born on September 15, 1973 in the city of Ufa. A boy was born in the family of Timur Yusupov, who had the status of a famous folk poet of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The mother of our hero, Damir, devoted most of her life to working on local television, although she was a geodesist by profession. It was from the parents that the guy inherited the love of high art, in particular, poetry and cinema.

After graduating from high school in his native Ufa, Bulat Yusupov was enrolled in the director's faculty at the Gerasimov State Institute of Cinematography. In 1995, after obtaining a specialty, he returned to his homeland, where he began his career as a professional director.

Film-making

In the middle of the 90's Bulat Yusupov was already one of the most promising directors of the state studio "Bashkortostan". The debut work of the director in the big cinema was a short film called "Glass Passenger". The main character of the film is a young writer who works on the creation of philosophical stories. By the will of fate, the guy is drawn into an unpleasant criminal story. However, a hero who is in grave danger is not experiencing fear of death. Like an outsider, he humbly watches the development of events.

The picture with a rather original overtones was positively received by the audience. The short tape gave a good start to the development of Bulat Yusupov's career. Later, the management of the Bashkortostan film studio decided to allocate funds to the director for as many as three full-length films: Long-Long Childhood, Seventh Summer Xumbel and Rainbow over the Village. All these tapes, to some extent, were successful on wide screens.

Care in an independent movie

In 2004 Bulat Yusupov decided to break off cooperation with the Bashkortostan film studio, intending to implement his own creative achievements. Having collected the crew from like-minded and close comrades, the director started to work simultaneously on several projects. Quite soon the premiere of several serials of authorship by Yusupov - "The Secret of Arkaim" and "The Bear". Then the light saw a short film "Dur". Multiserial projects of the director interested domestic television. From this moment, the films of the authorship of the young Bashkir director began to be broadcast on the central Russian channels.

In 2009, the Public Fund for Development of the city of Ufa allocated to Bulat funds for the opening of a personal film school. For several years, under the auspices of the newly formed organization, more than one hundred and fifty amateur films were produced.

Recent works of the director

In the summer of 2016 the work on the film "Babich" started. Bulat Yusupov planned the project, intending to pay tribute to the famous Bashkir poet Shaykhzad Babich. The plot of the film touched upon the most fruitful period of this outstanding man's activity, whose peak of glory fell on the beginning of the last century.

It is noteworthy that for a precise historical recreation of the spirit of the past era, director Bulat Yusupov resorted to organizing filming on the streets of the old part of the city of Ufa. Actions of the painting take place in the walls of the Bashkir Philharmonic, famous museums and educational institutions of the region.

In the same year in 2016, another film directed by the director - the comedy "Nagan" appeared on wide screens. The plot of the film tells about the life of the student Vasily Nakhodkin, who gets a chance to prove himself as a skillful architect during the practice in a successful construction company. Trying to protect from the demolition of the ancient building of the 19th century, the main character finds in the bins of the building a mysterious bundle, where the same unfortunate revolver hides. That's where the real adventures begin.

The film "Nagan" turned out to be quite ambitious. During the creation of separate scenes, up to 1000 people were involved in the film at the same time, who participated in the grandiose extras. One of the roles in the comedy tape was played by Tim Bulatov - leader of the popular rock band Lumen. The famous artist appeared on the screen in the form of a character who performs a Chekist song.
