But the fair sex demon Azazel taught to deceive others, including using cosmetic tweaks. There are mentions of this character in the literature. So, the Akinin's debut novel of the cycle about Erast Fandorin is called "Azazel". The demon is mentioned here rather in a figurative sense, for the speech in the book is about a certain secret society. It used genius people who possessed Knowledge (just like that, with a capital letter) to undermine the Russian state system. But Bulgakov for the "Master and Margarita" borrowed the name of this ancient "character", somewhat modifying it. The demon of Mikhail Afanasyevich is called Azazello. The creators of the series "Supernatural" have thoroughly worked on the image of one of the main negative heroes. The yellow-eyed demon is the main antagonist of the Winchester hunters in the first two seasons of the telesagh. And only at the beginning of the fourth season the audience will learn that the real name of this demon is Azazel. He had several human incarnations in the course of the action, but most often one thing - it was portrayed by actor Fredrik Lene.
In search of the enemy
Father Dean and Sam are literally obsessed with the idea of finding this villain, who was at the cot of a younger son, when the wife of John Mary died (which, as it turned out, just fell under the hot hand and was therefore destroyed as an unnecessary and disturbing witness). This infernal character plays a key role in the narrative, since it was the demon Azazel who was preparing a long-term dexterous plan for getting Lucifer out of the cell. He was looking for special children born on a certain day - it was such a grown child who was able to crack seals and start the mechanism of the Apocalypse. Having found these chosen ones, the demon conducted a certain ritual over them, including his own blood. This blood later became a kind of drug for Sam. But the power given in this way went for good too: Samuel with redoubled energy exterminated all evil spirits.
When retribution overtakes
Another point in which the demon Azazel very actively participated: saving the life of Dean. When the brothers, finally reunited with his father, got into a car accident at the end of the first season, Dean's life was hanging by a thread, he was already one foot in the grave. John sacrificed himself by making a deal with the yellow-eyed beast. So not for long the family stayed together, Winchester Sr. went on eternal torment to hell. But his son recovered. Retribution in the person of the brothers was on the heels of Azazel, because they were eager to avenge the perpetrator of the death of the mother and father. Destroy the creature could only be from a special colt, which with success and made Dean in the episode "The Gates of Hell." So the cunning and spiteful enemy Azazel found. "Supernatural" on this, however, did not end - ahead of the brothers had a lot of work, because they opened a loophole through which even more terrible creatures entered the Earth.
