We often use ketchup in everyday life, and mayonnaise is so often used in cooking that we already have no life without it. It seems to us that the taste of the dish is not the same. But, I must say that in Soviet times, the hostesses did not know a great variety in sauces and they were able to cook only in single restaurants. But in our time there is a huge number of recipes on which you can prepare a variety of flavorings. They are also sold in all supermarkets already ready, but nothing can compare with products prepared by themselves.

In particular, today I want to talk more about such a wonderful tasty sauce, like Tartar. He is now quite famous and is often used even in everyday life.

The recipe for Tartar sauce originated in France in the 19th century, during the Crusades, when the French met on their way nomadic tribes of the Tatars, whose name was called sauce. This sauce is usually served with fish dishes, seafood dishes, as well as cold meat appetizers.

Preparation of the sauce takes a few minutes, but in order that he has acquired the true taste peculiar only to him, the sauce should be in the refrigerator at least an hour before consumption and be served in a cold form.

The recipe for Tartar sauce is based on mayonnaise with the addition of vegetables and herbs that give the sauce a specific taste.

There are two cooking options: a quick recipe for Tartar sauce (if you use ready-made mayonnaise) and longer (includes cooking mayonnaise at home).

How to cook Tartar sauce?

For quick preparation we need the following ingredients:

- mayonnaise for your taste 120 g.

- finely chopped gherkins 1 tbsp. a spoon

- finely chopped onions 1 tbsp. a spoon

- finely chopped capers 1 tbsp. a spoon

Freshly squeezed lemon juice 1 tbsp. Spoons

- salt, black pepper to taste

So, take the mayonnaise and put it in a deep bowl, we add salt and pepper to taste. Gherkins, onions and capers, previously finely chopped, mixed and poured into mayonnaise. Mix well together and add freshly squeezed lemon juice. When our sauce is ready, it is necessary to put it for an hour and a half in the refrigerator, so that it will acquire its own taste. Some ostrenkogo lovers add a little garlic to the Tartar sauce, squeezing it through the garlic squeezer.

There it is also possible to add greens to taste, for example, finely chopped dill.

How to cook tartare completely at home?

There is another recipe for Tartar sauce, which includes cooking mayonnaise on your own. For this we need the following ingredients:

For mayonnaise:

- egg yolks 2 pcs.

- Olive oil 300 ml.

- white grape vinegar 2 teaspoons

- granulated sugar 0.5 teaspoons

- salt and pepper to taste

For sauce:

- finely chopped gherkins 1 tbsp. a spoon

- finely chopped onions 1 tbsp. a spoon

- finely chopped capers 1 tbsp. a spoon

Freshly squeezed lemon juice 1 tbsp. Spoons

In order to prepare mayonnaise at home, you need a blender (although you can do without it). Add the ingredients for the mayonnaise to the blender and whisk until smooth. This does not apply to olive oil, it is added gradually with a thin trickle and slowly mixed. Have got mayonnaise. Now you can go directly to cooking Tartar sauce. In the future, the recipe for Tartar sauce is the same as described above.

Such a self-cooked sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for no more than three days.
