Delicious homemade billet from forest berries: hawthorn jam, recipe and useful recommendations

Hawthorn is a fruit and berry shrub, an inhabitant of the forest and forest-steppe belt. Since we started talking about the jam from the hawthorn, useful properties of it to find out, too, does not interfere. Berry bushes are considered a valuable tasty and curative product. They were widely used as an astringent since the XVI century. At a later time with the help of hawthorn lowered blood pressure, cleaned the blood, treated cardiovascular diseases. Drops and tinctures of fruits, decoctions of fruits and flowers are now widely used in folk medicine and pharmacology. And the jam is enjoyed by lovers of sweet special popularity. It is prepared for the most part from varieties of large and juicy. If you want to cook pitted jam from hawthorn, recipe for weapons, take this. Berries, cleaned and washed, divide into halves. Free from the stones and pour the sugar to let the juice. Put the pelvis in the cool place for hours at 8. Then prepare the syrup. Boil a liter of water and pour 0.5-0.7 kg of sugar. Let it dissolve, remove the foam. Pour the syrup into the prepared jam from the hawthorn. The recipe recommends finely chop the lemon along with the rind and add to the berries. Cook in 3 sets, 30 minutes each. At the end of cooking halves of berries should acquire transparency. The finished product is spread over sterile jars and tighten.

Some additions

Your jam will get a surprisingly pleasant aroma, if, together with the berries, you make a slice of vanilla pod. Or just pour some vanilla into a basin. If you do not have time to fiddle with cooking or not suitable dishes, do easier. Mix the fruits you have with sugar (1: 1). You can remove the bones, and you can leave - as you wish. Pack the hawthorn to the banks, filling the berries with three quarters, and fill the rest of the space with sugar. Close the plastic covers and put them in the cellar for two or two and a half months. Then get out and eat a delicious treat: the hawthorn will empty the juice, the berries in it are naturally preserved. It will be amazingly delicious!
