"Deer Streams" is an ideal place for rest

"Deer Streams" is a territory located in the Sverdlovsk Region. 100 km separate this natural park from the city of Yekaterinburg. On its territory the river Serga flows. This zone was created not only to protect the biological diversity of the area, but also as a place for tourists to relax.

A bit of history

The natural park "Oleni Ruchi" was opened in 1999 on the border of the forest-steppe and mountain taiga. But long before that a group of students at the Ural University had been working on the marking of hiking trails.

origin of name

Traces of the activity of an ancient man were found on the territory of the unique park "Oleny Ruchi". On one of the rocks near the river Serga archaeologists saw an image of a red deer. Further studies showed that this pattern was made by hunters more than 1000 years ago. And "Red Deer" has since become a symbol of these places.

Animal and plant life

The natural territory of "Deer Stream" preserves a great variety of flora and fauna in the valley of the Sergi River. On the territory of the park there are such landscape zones as forest-steppe and taiga. Here you can see a lot of relic plants. The pride of "Deer Brooks" is considered beaver, which was on the verge of destruction in the last century. Beaver burrows can be found along the banks of the river.

Caves

The main rocks of the park are limestones, which created an unusual and bizarre form of the relief of these places. Especially popular among tourists are the local caves.

• The cave "Friendship" impresses with its size. Its total length is not less than 500 meters. There you can see wide grottos, as well as underground lakes and streams.
• Arakaevskaya cave is considered one of the youngest and most beautiful natural formations of these places. In winter, bats live here.
