He almost immediately moved to professional boxing, not having much experience in amateur sports behind him, and proved himself to be a very aggressive, dominant fighter.

The way to a dream through obstacles

The biography of David Avanesyan is rather unusual for the star of professional boxing. He was born in Bashkiria in 1988 in an Armenian family. This Russian region did not have good boxing traditions, and the boy simply had nowhere to go in for his favorite sport. However, having learned that his school's fizruk has a rank in boxing, David began to persuade him to organize a sports section where he could practice the skills of pugilism.

He agreed, and so for Avanesyan began his way in boxing. After school, he also worked out strokes at home, hanging a huge pear to the canopy, for which he listened to reproaches from my grandmother, who was afraid of flimsy design. At the age of 14, David Avanesyan moved with his family to Pyatigorsk. Here he entered the children's and youth club "FATHER", where he seriously began to sharpen the skills of big boxing. The head of this club later even became the director of David.

First, the native teenager was against his employment so traumatic sport, and he had to hide his fascination with boxing. At home, he said that he was visiting a circle at school, and he secretly ran off to workout. However, the progress of the young man was so obvious that the parents and grandmother of the athlete reconciled with his passion.

The first battles

David Avanesyan almost immediately began to compete in professional fights, bypassing the stage of amateur boxing. Not having a wide reputation and a great name, he could not count on contracts from famous foreign promoters and began his big journey in the Russian territory. The first years of his career David Avanesyan spent at home, speaking mainly in the arenas of the southern region of the country. The debut of the boxer took place in 2009 in Sochi against the same newcomer Vazgen Aghajanyan. The battle took place in the format of a three-round duel and ended with the victory of the Pyatigorsk sportsman by a decision of the judges.

The second match was a serious test for the Armenian-Russian boxer. He was released against the rising star of Andrei Klimov, not particularly hoping for a victory, and the beginning professional could not compete on an equal footing with a strong opponent. David had a serious resistance, but lost after the whole fight. The defeat greatly struck the fighter's self-esteem, and David Avanesyan even fell ill with grief. However, the boxer quickly recovered morally and physically, and was able to then give out a whole series of victorious fights. True, almost all rivals were the same novice professionals, like him, and no special problems for the fighter did not arise.

The first belts

In 2011 boxer David Avanesyan got the opportunity to hold his first title fight. At stake was the belt of the champion of Russia in welterweight, and rival of the Armenian was Ruslan Haytdinov, who won in all his previous matches. Hard and stubborn fight was held in the oncoming fight, the fighters were not afraid to go into the exchange of punches. Despite the fact that Ruslan was considered the favorite, David Avanesyan was able to make a more favorable impression on the judges and was recognized as the winner.

In the same year, the Armenian was able to take another title, defeating Samuel Kamau in the match for the WBC Junior Welterweight belt. Having earned a good reputation, David Avanesyan got the opportunity to conduct his battles outside of Russia. Since 2014, he regularly travels abroad, speaking in England, the United States. One of the defining fights in his career was the battle against the Venezuelan Charlie Navarro, which took place in Monaco in 2015. The stakes were higher than ever - at stake was the title of interim world champion by the WBC version.

The Armenian suppressed his opponent, hitting him with a hurricane of blows, and the referee stopped the beating of a Latin American, having determined a technical knockout. A year later, David Avanesyan for the first time in his life had the opportunity to confront the world star of professional boxing. Against him came the legendary Shane Moseley, who expected at the end of his career to win a couple of bright victories. However, the fight that took place in Arizona, confidently controlled by a young and high-speed David Avanesyan, who defended his belt.

In February 2017, the last battle of David Avanesian took place. On the arena in Cincinnati, he confronted Lemont Peterson, who was a very strong opponent. The fight was very spectacular and memorable.

The American brought David down one jar after another, and Avanesyan had to retreat. However, he retired with a fight and did not let the enemy succeed. In some stretches of the match, a desperate exchange of blows began, and it seemed that everything could be decided in one episode. However, the battle lasted for all 12 rounds and ended with a minimal victory for the American challenger.
