Cyclodol is an antiparkzonian drug that exerts peripheral and central muscle relaxant and anticholinergic action. As a result of taking the drug, tremor decreases, it also affects hypokinesia and rigidity. In addition, cyclodol has a weaker effect on the secretion of the sebaceous glands and sweating.

Composition

The active substance of the drug is trihexyphenidyl hydrochloride. The auxiliary substances include: sucrose, microcrystalline cellulose, potato starch, calcium stearate.

This tool is prescribed to treat patients in the following cases:

• motor disorders due to problems in the extrapyramidal system ;

• Parkinsonism of various etiologies.

• psychosis;

• elderly age.

Under the influence of reserpine, the main effect of trihexyphenidyl is significantly reduced due to the depletion of dopamine reserves in the central nervous system.

Levodopa, on the contrary, has a positive effect, increasing the antiparkinsonian effect of the drug. Because of this, when combined, it is necessary to reduce the dose of both drugs.

As a result of an overdose of the drug begins poisoning the body with its components. Symptoms of the onset of poisoning are:

• mydriasis;

• tachycardia;

Atony of the biliary tract;

• dryness of the mucous membrane in the oral cavity;

Atony of the intestine;

• Excitation (both mental and motor);
