Covering material for beds - solving problems of gardener

Ogorodnik waits a lot of trouble: freezing, heavy rain, hail, very hot or cold weather, too bright sun, plant diseases, weeds and much more. Covering material for beds can largely solve most of these problems. This is a specially developed material consisting of stabilized propylene fibers (does not enter into chemical reactions and does not decompose), which are glued at high temperature, but do not form a continuous film. This non-woven material allows moisture and air to escape, while protecting plants from too bright sun and ultraviolet, limiting the evaporation of water, stabilizing the temperature. This is a wonderful assistant gardener.

Distinguish the covering material for the beds by the density and functions that it performs:

  • Easy. Has a density of 14-17 g / m 2 . This type of material is suitable for protecting seedlings from frost, over-drying and overheating. Due to its excellent permeability, you can water the plants without raising the protective coating. When the plants begin to grow actively, they easily lift the non-woven covering material and are not injured (which happens when using polyethylene film).
  • Average. The density is 28-42 g / m 2 . The area of its application is a covering material for greenhouses and frame tunnels. Used usually in the spring-summer period.
  • Thick white. The density is 50-60 g / m 2 . Due to its high density, it also perfectly protects against wind, hail, too much rain, frost or scorching sun. Can be used at any time of the year - from early spring (protection of seedlings) to late autumn or to cover crops for the winter. It can be used as a covering material for roses. To do this, a frame is built (or bought ready), it is covered with this material (you can sew special covers, or you can simply hide them with pieces, fixing them along the edges). Everything, the shelter is ready. By the same principle, you can warm any heat-loving plants in the garden, in the yard, in the country.
  • Thick black. This covering material for beds is used mainly to prevent the germination of weeds in the aisle and for better warming of the earth. If you use it as a weed protection, just cut the holes in the places where the plants are located, leaving the rest of the area under the coverlet. Thanks to this technology, it is possible to achieve earlier ripening of the crop.

As you can see, this material is just a salvation for truck farmers. In the spring it is used as protection against frost, insects, diseases, birds. With its application it is possible to achieve earlier crops. In summer it is an effective protection against overheating, the same insects and strong winds. Also at this time, the covering material for the beds prevents the plants from overheating and drying out, while maintaining optimum conditions for growth. In the autumn, it again protects against frost and weather, prolonging the harvesting time. In winter, its use is possible as a protection against the low temperatures of wintering plants or crops.

Such a universal soldier in the struggle for harvest. But there are, as usual, some drawbacks. The first is a fairly high material cost, the second is short-lived. If you use it not very carefully, it clings to the ledges and can tear.
