Summary. "Fatal eggs." Bulgakov

Mikhail Afanasyevich Bulgakov - one of the favorite Russian writers, and not one generation of people. A bright and diverse writer who is good in all his genres. Everyone remembers his famous novels "The Master and Margarita" and "The White Guard", the novels "Dog Heart" and "Fatal Eggs". Bulgakov's works can be disassembled literally from quotations.

The story "Fatal eggs" Bulgakov wrote back in 1924. And the next year it was already published. What does its summary tell us about? "Fatal eggs" is a work that, even from the point of view of a short narrative, can surprise anyone. And especially those who lived in those years.

"Fatal eggs": analysis

The source for this fantastic work was the novel by the English fiction writer Herbert Wells, "The Food of the Gods" (1904), which describes miraculous food that accelerates the growth of a person and turns him into a giant, as well as developing his intellectual, spiritual and physical abilities. "Fatal eggs" Bulgakov made more exotic and in his plot used aggressive reptiles, rather than giant human individuals.

And the poet Maximilian Voloshin, resting in the Crimea, in Koktebel, sent Bulgakov a clipping from a local newspaper in 1921, which said that a huge reptile had appeared in the vicinity of Kara-Dag Mountain , and Red Army soldiers were sent to capture him.

The work "Fatal Eggs" also recalls Wells's second novel, The War of the Worlds (1898), in which the Martians who conquered the Earth perish from terrestrial microbes. Bulgakov, however, his exotic reptiles become victims of fantastic summer frosts.

Summary. Fatal eggs

It all started with the fact that in 1928 the Soviet professor of zoology and the director of the Moscow Zoo Institute, Persikov Vladimir Ipatievich, once made an unexpected scientific discovery, which was of great importance for zoology.

Working with a microscope, with an occasional shift of the mirror, he suddenly saw in the eyepiece the "ray of life", as later he would be called assistant professor, scientist Ivanov Petr Stepanovich.

The essence of the scientific discovery was that unicellular organisms such as amoebae, when exposed to this ray, began to behave in a very incomprehensible and strange way. Their behavior was contrary to all natural laws of nature. Amoebas suddenly began to multiply, pounce on each other and bitching one another. In this struggle, the strongest won. All these surviving individuals are terrible and restless in their particular speed and anger.

A Dangerous Experience

After a while, the learned assistant Ivanov uses several more chambers, creates a powerful beam and goes to an experiment with the frog's caviar. For two days grown very hungry and evil cold-blooded animals, who also began to devour each other. And those who survived, began to multiply in countless numbers.

In general, all these unique experiments of Professor Persikov could not help seeping into the press. However, not only this news has reduced scientific workers from the mind, but also the fact that in the country for some strange reasons began to spread completely unknown to science chicken disease. And that's why Professor Persikov was invited to head the newly created emergency commission, which was to deploy its active activities in the fight against the chicken epidemic, because in just two weeks all the chickens in the country were extinct.

Eggs of tropical animals

And then Alexander Rochev came to the office of the scientist Persikov. He was only recently appointed chairman of the state farm Krasnyi Luch, where he received a letter of special importance from the Kremlin. It proposed to transfer to the use of Rocca designed cameras that would help raise the chicken farming in the country. But Persikov warns the chairman that this unique device has not been fully explored yet. However, Rock is confident that in a relatively short time he will be able to increase the number of chickens several times.

So it seems to be very easy to twist the summary. "Fatal eggs" then, however, become really exciting.

Rocca's assistants take all three camera settings, except for the very first small camera that remained with Professor Persikov. He also continued his studies from abroad, he received an order in the form of eggs of tropical animals, pythons, anacondas, crocodiles and ostriches for their experiments.

Substitution

In turn, Rock from the same abroad for his farming purposes for breeding chicken farms writes out chicken eggs. And then something terrible happens, as it turned out later, on the way orders were messed up, and eggs of eerie animals fall under the experiment of the Smolensk state farm.

Unsuspecting Rock, strange-looking eggs are placed in a special hyperbaric chamber. And what is surprising, after a while the farm suddenly fell silent frogs, all birds flew away, even sparrows, and dogs began to howl everywhere.

A terrible attack

After a while, snakes and crocodiles begin to appear on the light. One of the snakes reached an incredible size and attacked Manya, the wife of Rocca. All this was happening before his eyes, and from what he saw he was numb with terror. Rock immediately rushed to the GPU department to tell about his misfortunes, but no one believed his stories and everyone thought that he was being haunted by hallucinations. But when the experts nevertheless came to the state farm, they saw with their own eyes a myriad of huge and terrible animals. Two employees of the GPU perish.

A fire artillery battle began around the neighborhood, the whole forest was shelled, where there were deposits of eggs. And in the area of the city of Mozhaisk, there were fights with huge hordes of reptiles and ostriches, which were approaching Moscow from all sides. Human sacrifices were growing every minute. In the capital, evacuation began. Refugees from the Smolensk region also came to Moscow. Martial law was introduced in the city .

Poor Professor Persikov literally tore up a crowd of enraged people who felt that he was the culprit of all the ills in the country.

All this is very bright and impressive describes the summary. Bulgakov's "fatal eggs" end in saving the catastrophic situation with a severe frost, which reached minus 18 degrees Celsius at the end of August. He stayed in the capital for two days and thereby helped to overcome this impending terror.

Victory

After that, eggs, in which the shell was covered with some colored and very strange patterns, reminiscent of embryos, only harmless, were scattered across all the fields, forests and marshes. Throughout the earth lay the bodies of huge snakes, crocodiles and ostriches.

In the spring of 1929, the military cleared the terrain, burnt the corpses, in general, they put everything in order. About what happened, for a long time they talked and wrote all over the world, but nobody has already succeeded in getting this "ray of life" and will not succeed, even to the assistant himself Ivan Petr Stepanovich.

That's how the "Fatal eggs" of Bulgakov ended, which for fans of fiction will be a pleasant surprise.
