Concrete floors on the ground

The main question that most people face when building a private house, garage or bath is how to make the floor of the first floor dry and warm? It is often enough to fill the concrete mix. This is a method that allows you to get with really low costs truly excellent results. It is important to understand that the installation of the floor on the ground dictates a very specific sequence of work.

Builders resort to cunning, laying the floor in several layers, alternating heat insulating and waterproofing materials. It is also important that the material used for flooring is used - natural or synthetic. Such a technological sandwich, which will be obtained as a result, will serve its owner for many years, protecting from the vagaries of the weather. To the floor on the ground served faithfully, one should follow the recommendations. Then we will talk about them.

In general, concrete floors on the ground are arranged in the following sequence. To begin with, prepare the foundation. It will be placed on the floor on the ground. You can use a sandy-gravel or sandy base, which must be tamped and aligned. Further, a layer of waterproofing material is laid. Here you can apply a specialized solution, but with a limited budget, it is also appropriate to use conventional polypropylene film. It is important that the floors on the ground are not laid on the earthen or clay base, as this can cause cracks (several years later).

After these manipulations, it is possible to fill the first layer of the solution. It is important to monitor its thickness, which should be no more than 50-70 millimeters. To equalize the concrete mass, it is appropriate to use beacons. Use a hydro level to control the position of the beacons. Between beacons should be observed distance of 1.5-2 meters. To make the screed level, use the rule. After the concrete coating has hardened, the floors on the ground should be waterproofed using special mixtures. Then you should put the extruded polystyrene foam or solid foam. The thickness of the material should be approximately 30 millimeters. Now you can lay a grid-mesh, which has a lattice pitch of 50x50 mm. It is appropriate to use the armature, the cross section of which is 10-15 millimeters. The completed base can be poured with a second layer of concrete. Its thickness should be at the level of 20-30 millimeters.

The final chord is the screed of concrete. Here you will need beacons to be fixed. On the floors on the ground, you can lay a new layer of concrete. The screed will dry out for two to three weeks. To the surface is not covered with cracks, it should be covered with a material that repels water, and then in this form leave to dry. The surface should then be treated with a water-repellent primer. In addition to its main function, this composition will not allow particles of cement to scatter around the room.

Now you know how to arrange floors on the ground. It remains only to proceed with the implementation of the plan.
